20 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antioch:

21 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith: and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.

22 And when they had ordained to them priests in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, in whom they believed.

23 And passing through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia.

24 And having spoken the word of the Lord in Perge, they went down into Attalia:

25 And thence they sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been delivered to the grace of God, unto the work which they accomplished.

26 And when they were come, and had assembled the church, they related what great things God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

27 And they abode no small time with the disciples.

15 And some coming down from Judea, taught the brethren: That except you be circumcised after the manner of Moses, you cannot be saved.

And when Paul and Barnabas had no small contest with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of the other side, should go up to the apostles and priests to Jerusalem about this question.

They therefore being brought on their way by the church, passed through Phenice, and Samaria, relating the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.

And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and ancients, declaring how great things God had done with them.

20 But after the disciples(A) had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.

The Return to Antioch in Syria

21 They preached the gospel(B) in that city and won a large number(C) of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium(D) and Antioch, 22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith.(E) “We must go through many hardships(F) to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. 23 Paul and Barnabas appointed elders[a](G) for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting,(H) committed them to the Lord,(I) in whom they had put their trust. 24 After going through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia,(J) 25 and when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.

26 From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch,(K) where they had been committed to the grace of God(L) for the work they had now completed.(M) 27 On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them(N) and how he had opened a door(O) of faith to the Gentiles. 28 And they stayed there a long time with the disciples.(P)

The Council at Jerusalem

15 Certain people(Q) came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers:(R) “Unless you are circumcised,(S) according to the custom taught by Moses,(T) you cannot be saved.” This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem(U) to see the apostles and elders(V) about this question. The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia(W) and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted.(X) This news made all the believers very glad. When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them.(Y)
