7 He was with (A)the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the (B)magician (for that is the meaning of his name) (C)opposed them, seeking to turn (D)the proconsul away from the faith. 9 But Saul, who was also called Paul, (E)filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him 10 and said, “You (F)son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and (G)villainy, will you not stop (H)making crooked (I)the straight paths of the Lord?

7 who was an attendant of the proconsul,(A) Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer(B) (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul(C) from the faith.(D) 9 Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit,(E) looked straight at Elymas and said, 10 “You are a child of the devil(F) and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?(G)
