³⁶ For David, after he had ^(A)served the purpose of God in his own generation, ^(B)fell asleep and ^(C)was laid with his fathers and saw corruption,

²⁹ “Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about ^(A)the patriarch David ^(B)that he both died and ^(C)was buried, and ^(D)his tomb is with us to this day.

The Death of David

^10 (A)Then David slept with his fathers and was buried in ^(B)the city of David.

²² And ^(A)when he had removed him, ^(B)he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ^(C)‘I have found in David the son of Jesse ^(D)a man after my heart, ^(E)who will do all my will.’

^12 (A)When your days are fulfilled and ^(B)you lie down with your fathers, ^(C)I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.
