22 When he had removed him, he made David their king. In his testimony about him he said, ‘I have found David, son of Jesse, to be a man after my heart, who will carry out all my wishes.’ 23 Of this man’s posterity God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised; 24 before his coming John had already proclaimed a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 25 And as John was finishing his work, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but one is coming after me; I am not worthy to untie the thong of the sandals[a] on his feet.’
26 “My brothers, you descendants of Abraham’s family, and others who fear God, to us[b] the message of this salvation has been sent.

22 After removing Saul,(A) he made David their king.(B) God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart;(C) he will do everything I want him to do.’(D)
23 “From this man’s descendants(E) God has brought to Israel the Savior(F) Jesus,(G) as he promised.(H) 24 Before the coming of Jesus, John preached repentance and baptism to all the people of Israel.(I) 25 As John was completing his work,(J) he said: ‘Who do you suppose I am? I am not the one you are looking for.(K) But there is one coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’(L)
26 “Fellow children of Abraham(M) and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation(N) has been sent.
