17 (A)The God of this people Israel (B)chose our fathers and (C)made the people great (D)during their stay in the land of Egypt, and (E)with uplifted arm he led them out of it. 18 And for about (F)forty years (G)he put up with[a] them in the wilderness. 19 And (H)after destroying (I)seven nations in the land of Canaan, (J)he gave them their land as an inheritance.
