Acts 11:15-18

¹⁵And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

¹⁶Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

¹⁷Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

¹⁸When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

¹⁵“As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on^(A) them as he had come on us at the beginning.^(B) ¹⁶Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with^[a] water,^(C) but you will be baptized with^[b] the Holy Spirit.’^(D) ¹⁷So if God gave them the same gift^(E) he gave us^(F) who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”

¹⁸When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”^(G)
