2 a devout man and (A)one who feared God with all his household, and (B)gave many [a]alms to the Jewish people and prayed to God continually. 3 About (C)the [b]ninth hour of the day he clearly saw (D)in a vision (E)an angel of God who had just come in and said to him, “Cornelius!” 4 And (F)fixing his gaze on him and being much alarmed, he said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and [c]alms (G)have ascended (H)as a memorial before God.

New International Version
2 He and all his family were devout and God-fearing;(A) he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. 3 One day at about three in the afternoon(B) he had a vision.(C) He distinctly saw an angel(D) of God, who came to him and said, “Cornelius!”
4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked.
The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering(E) before God.(F)
