Acts 1:21-26
Christian Standard Bible
21 “Therefore, from among the men who have accompanied us during the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us— 22 beginning from the baptism of John until the day he was taken up from us—from among these, it is necessary that one become a witness with us of his resurrection.”(A)
23 So they proposed two: Joseph, called Barsabbas, who was also known as Justus, and Matthias.(B) 24 Then they prayed,(C) “You, Lord, know everyone’s hearts; show which of these two you have chosen(D) 25 to take the place[a] in this apostolic ministry(E) that Judas left to go where he belongs.” 26 Then they cast lots(F) for them, and the lot fell to Matthias and he was added to the eleven apostles.

New International Version
21 Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus was living among us, 22 beginning from John’s baptism(A) to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness(B) with us of his resurrection.”
23 So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. 24 Then they prayed,(C) “Lord, you know everyone’s heart.(D) Show us(E) which of these two you have chosen 25 to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.” 26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.(F)
