2 until the day when He was taken up, after He had given commandments through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 to whom He presented Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, appearing to them for forty days, and speaking concerning the kingdom of God. 4 Being assembled with them, He commanded them, “Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, of which you have heard from Me.[a]

New International Version
2 until the day he was taken up to heaven,(A) after giving instructions(B) through the Holy Spirit to the apostles(C) he had chosen.(D) 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them(E) over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.(F) 4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait(G) for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.(H)
