1 Sau đây là lời của A-mốt, một trong những kẻ chăn chiên ở thị trấn Tê-cô-a. Ông nhìn thấy dị tượng về Ít-ra-en hai năm trước cơn động đất khi Ô-xia làm vua Giu-đa và Giê-rô-bô-am, con Giô-ách làm vua Ít-ra-en.
Sự trừng phạt A-ram
2 A-mốt nói,
“CHÚA sẽ gầm lên từ Giê-ru-sa-lem;
Ngài sẽ lên tiếng từ Giê-ru-sa-lem.
Các đồng cỏ của kẻ chăn chiên sẽ khô héo,
đến nỗi đỉnh núi Cạt-mên [a] cũng sẽ khô cằn.”
3 CHÚA phán:
“Vì Đa-mách phạm nhiều tội,
nên ta chắc chắn sẽ trừng phạt nó.
Chúng nó đè bẹp dân Ghi-lê-át
bằng ván đạp lúa có răng sắt.
4 Nên ta sẽ sai lửa xuống trên nhà Ha-xa-ên [b]
để phá sập các tháp cao của Bên Ha-đát.
5 Ta sẽ tiêu hủy thanh cài cửa của Đa-mách [c],
và tiêu diệt vua ngự trị trong thung lũng A-ven,
cũng như lãnh tụ của Bết Ê-đen [d].
Dân A-ram sẽ bị bắt làm tù binh đến xứ Kia [e],” CHÚA phán vậy.
Trừng phạt dân Phi-li-tin
6 CHÚA phán:
“Vì Ga-xa [f] phạm nhiều tội,
nên ta chắc chắn sẽ trừng phạt chúng.
Chúng bán toàn dân để làm tôi mọi cho Ê-đôm.
7 Nên ta sẽ sai lửa xuống vách thành Ga-xa
để tiêu hủy các toà nhà kiên cố của nó.
8 Ta sẽ tiêu diệt lãnh tụ thành Ách-đốt,
cùng thủ lãnh của Ách-kê-lôn.
Rồi ta sẽ nghịch lại dân thành Éc-rôn [g],
và người cuối cùng của Phi-li-tin sẽ chết,”
CHÚA là Thượng-Đế phán vậy.
Trừng phạt dân Phê-ni-xi
9 CHÚA phán:
“Vì Tia phạm nhiều tội,
nên ta chắc chắn sẽ trừng phạt chúng.
Chúng bán toàn dân
để làm tôi mọi cho Ê-đôm,
Chúng quên giao ước thân hữu lập với Ít-ra-en.
10 Cho nên ta sẽ sai lửa xuống vách thành Tia [h]
để thiêu đốt các toà nhà kiên cố của nó.”
Trừng phạt dân Ê-đôm
11 CHÚA phán:
“Vì Ê-đôm phạm nhiều tội,
nên ta chắc chắn sẽ trừng phạt chúng.
Chúng săn lùng thân nhân mình
tức người Ít-ra-en bằng gươm,
không chút thương xót.
Chúng luôn luôn tức giận
và trong lòng nóng nảy không thôi.
12 Cho nên ta sẽ sai lửa đến trên thành Thê-man [i]
để thiêu rụi các toà nhà kiên cố của Bốt-ra [j].”
Trừng phạt dân Am-môn
13 CHÚA phán:
“Vì Am-môn [k] phạm nhiều tội,
nên ta chắc chắn sẽ trừng phạt chúng.
Chúng mổ bụng đàn bà chửa trong Ghi-lê-át,
để bành trướng lãnh thổ mình.
14 Cho nên ta sẽ sai lửa xuống vách thành Ráp-ba [l]
để thiêu đốt các toà nhà kiên cố của chúng.
Điều đó sẽ đến trong ngày chiến trận,
trong cơn gió lốc [m].
15 Rồi vua và các lãnh tụ nó
sẽ bị bắt làm tù binh;
tất cả đều sẽ bị lưu đày,”
CHÚA phán vậy.

- A-mốt 1:2 núi Cạt-mên Một ngọn núi nằm về phía bắc Ít-ra-en. Tên núi ấy có nghĩa là “vườn nho của Thượng Đế” chứng tỏ đó là vùng đất phì nhiêu.
- A-mốt 1:4 Ha-xa-ên Ha-xa-ên là vua của A-ram (Xy-ri) Ông ta giết Bên Ha-đát, vua A-ram. Xem II Vua 13:3.
- A-mốt 1:5 Đa-mách Thủ đô của A-ram (Xy-ri).
- A-mốt 1:5 Bết Ê-đen Thành phố của vua A-ram (Xy-ri) trên núi Li-băng. Từ ngữ nầy nghĩa là “Nhà Khoái lạc” hay “Thiên đàng.”
- A-mốt 1:5 Kia Hay “Cua,” một vùng do người A-xy-ri kiểm soát. Xem A-mốt 9:7.

阿摩司預示亞蘭必受主罰
1 當猶大王烏西雅、以色列王約阿施的兒子耶羅波安在位的時候，大地震前二年，提哥亞牧人中的阿摩司得默示論以色列。
2 他說：耶和華必從錫安吼叫，從耶路撒冷發聲，牧人的草場要悲哀，迦密的山頂要枯乾。
3 耶和華如此說：「大馬士革三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去他的刑罰，因為他以打糧食的鐵器打過基列。 4 我卻要降火在哈薛的家中，燒滅便哈達的宮殿。 5 我必折斷大馬士革的門閂，剪除亞文平原的居民和伯伊甸掌權的，亞蘭人必被擄到吉珥。」這是耶和華說的。
非利士受罰
6 耶和華如此說：「加沙三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去他的刑罰，因為他擄掠眾民交給以東。 7 我卻要降火在加沙的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。 8 我必剪除亞實突的居民和亞實基倫掌權的，也必反手攻擊以革倫，非利士人所餘剩的必都滅亡。」這是主耶和華說的。
推羅受罰
9 耶和華如此說：「推羅三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去他的刑罰，因為他將眾民交給以東，並不記念弟兄的盟約。 10 我卻要降火在推羅的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。」
以東受罰
11 耶和華如此說：「以東三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去他的刑罰，因為他拿刀追趕兄弟，毫無憐憫，發怒撕裂，永懷憤怒。 12 我卻要降火在提幔，燒滅波斯拉的宮殿。」
亞捫受罰
13 耶和華如此說：「亞捫人三番四次的犯罪，我必不免去他們的刑罰，因為他們剖開基列的孕婦，擴張自己的境界。 14 我卻要在爭戰呐喊的日子，旋風狂暴的時候，點火在拉巴的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。 15 他們的王和首領必一同被擄去。」這是耶和華說的。

1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 And he said, The Lord will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4 But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.
5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the Lord.
6 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.
9 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10 But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
11 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12 But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13 Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14 But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15 And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.

1 The words of Amos, one of the shepherds of Tekoa(A)—the vision he saw concerning Israel two years before the earthquake,(B) when Uzziah(C) was king of Judah and Jeroboam(D) son of Jehoash[a] was king of Israel.(E)
2 He said:
“The Lord roars(F) from Zion
and thunders(G) from Jerusalem;(H)
the pastures of the shepherds dry up,
and the top of Carmel(I) withers.”(J)
Judgment on Israel’s Neighbors
3 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Damascus,(K)
even for four, I will not relent.(L)
Because she threshed Gilead
with sledges having iron teeth,
4 I will send fire(M) on the house of Hazael(N)
that will consume the fortresses(O) of Ben-Hadad.(P)
5 I will break down the gate(Q) of Damascus;
I will destroy the king who is in[b] the Valley of Aven[c]
and the one who holds the scepter in Beth Eden.(R)
The people of Aram will go into exile to Kir,(S)”
says the Lord.(T)
6 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Gaza,(U)
even for four, I will not relent.(V)
Because she took captive whole communities
and sold them to Edom,(W)
7 I will send fire on the walls of Gaza
that will consume her fortresses.
8 I will destroy the king[d] of Ashdod(X)
and the one who holds the scepter in Ashkelon.
I will turn my hand(Y) against Ekron,
till the last of the Philistines(Z) are dead,”(AA)
says the Sovereign Lord.(AB)
9 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Tyre,(AC)
even for four, I will not relent.(AD)
Because she sold whole communities of captives to Edom,
disregarding a treaty of brotherhood,(AE)
10 I will send fire on the walls of Tyre
that will consume her fortresses.(AF)”
11 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Edom,(AG)
even for four, I will not relent.
Because he pursued his brother with a sword(AH)
and slaughtered the women of the land,
because his anger raged continually
and his fury flamed unchecked,(AI)
12 I will send fire on Teman(AJ)
that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.(AK)”
13 This is what the Lord says:
“For three sins of Ammon,(AL)
even for four, I will not relent.
Because he ripped open the pregnant women(AM) of Gilead
in order to extend his borders,
14 I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah(AN)
that will consume(AO) her fortresses
amid war cries(AP) on the day of battle,
amid violent winds(AQ) on a stormy day.
15 Her king[e] will go into exile,
he and his officials together,(AR)”
says the Lord.(AS)
