18 And Jehoash king of Judah (A)took all the sacred things that his fathers, Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own sacred things, and all the gold found in the treasuries of the house of the Lord and in the king’s house, and sent them to Hazael king of Syria. Then he went away from Jerusalem.

18 But Joash king of Judah took all the sacred objects dedicated by his predecessors—Jehoshaphat, Jehoram and Ahaziah, the kings of Judah—and the gifts he himself had dedicated and all the gold found in the treasuries of the temple of the Lord and of the royal palace, and he sent(A) them to Hazael king of Aram, who then withdrew(B) from Jerusalem.

21 For [a]Jozachar the son of Shimeath and Jehozabad the son of [b]Shomer, his servants, struck him. So he died, and they buried him with his fathers in the City of David. Then (A)Amaziah his son reigned in his place.

21 The officials who murdered him were Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer. He died and was buried with his ancestors in the City of David. And Amaziah his son succeeded him as king.
