^17 (A)Repay no one evil for evil, but ^(B)give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. ¹⁸ If possible, so far as it depends on you, ^(C)live peaceably with all. ¹⁹ Beloved, ^(D)never avenge yourselves, but leave it^[a] to the wrath of God, for it is written, ^(E)“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” ²⁰ To the contrary, ^(F)“if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” ²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

^36 (A)And a person's enemies will be those of his own household.

¹¹ But if I, brothers,^[a] still preach^[b] circumcision, ^(A)why am I still being persecuted? In that case ^(B)the offense of the cross has been removed.

^12 (A)It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh ^(B)who would force you to be circumcised, and only ^(C)in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. ¹³ For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. ¹⁴ But far be it from me to boast ^(D)except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which^[a] the world ^(E)has been crucified to me, and I to the world. ¹⁵ For ^(F)neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but ^(G)a new creation. ¹⁶ And as for all who walk by this rule, ^(H)peace and mercy be upon them, and upon ^(I)the Israel of God.
