²³ So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden^(A) to work the ground^(B) from which he had been taken. ²⁴ After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side^[a] of the Garden of Eden^(C) cherubim^(D) and a flaming sword^(E) flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.^(F)

Jonah’s Prayer

¹⁷ Now the Lord provided^(A) a huge fish to swallow Jonah,^(B) and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

²⁷ “All things have been committed to me^(A) by my Father.^(B) No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.^(C)

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish,^(A) so the Son of Man^(B) will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.^(C)
