Rening efter spetälska

14 Herren talade till Mose: 2 ”Detta är lagen som gäller en spetälsk som ska förklaras ren. Han ska föras till prästen 3 som ska gå ut till den sjuke utanför lägret och undersöka honom. Om den spetälske har blivit botad, 4 ska prästen skaffa två levande rena fåglar och sedan ta lite cederträ, karmosinrött garn och några kvistar isop för den som ska förklaras ren. 5 Prästen ska sedan låta slakta den ena fågeln över ett lerkärl med friskt vatten. 6 Den andra fågeln ska levande doppas i blodet av fågeln som slaktades över det friska vattnet, tillsammans med cederträet, det karmosinröda garnet och isopen. 7 Sedan ska prästen sju gånger stänka blodet på mannen som blivit botad från sin spetälska och han ska förklara honom ren och sedan låta den levande fågeln flyga sin väg.

8 Därefter ska mannen som blivit ren tvätta sina kläder, raka av sig allt hår och bada, så att han blir ren innan han får återvända till lägret. Men han måste vänta ytterligare sju dagar innan han får gå in i sitt tält. 9 På den sjunde dagen ska han på nytt raka av sig allt hår och skägg och båda ögonbrynen, tvätta sina kläder och bada, och efter att han rakat av allt sitt hår ska han vara ren.

10 På den åttonde dagen ska han ta två felfria lamm av hankön, ett felfritt årsgammalt lamm av honkön, nio liter fint mjöl blandat med olja till matoffer och ytterligare en halv liter olja[a]. 11 Sedan ska prästen som förklarar honom ren ställa mannen och hans offer inför Herren vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet.

12 Prästen ska ta ett av lammen och oljan och offra det till Herren som ett skuldoffer genom att lyfta upp det inför Herren. 13 Sedan ska han slakta lammet där man slaktar syndoffer- och brännofferdjur på en helig plats. Skuldoffret ska sedan ges åt prästen, precis som när man bär fram syndoffer. Det är högheligt. 14 Prästen ska ta blodet från skuldoffret och stryka det på högra örsnibben på den som renas och också på hans högra hands tumme och på högra fotens stortå.

15 Därefter ska prästen ta oljan, hälla den i sin vänstra hand, 16 doppa sitt högra pekfinger i den och stänka den med sitt finger inför Herren sju gånger. 17 En del av oljan som prästen har kvar i handen ska han stryka på mannens högra örsnibb, på hans högra hands tumme och stortån på hans högra fot ovanpå blodet från skuldoffret. 18 Resten av oljan i hans hand ska användas för att smörja mannens huvud. På så sätt ska prästen skaffa mannen försoning inför Herren.

19 Sedan ska prästen bära fram syndoffret och skaffa försoning för den som ska renas från sin orenhet. Efteråt ska prästen slakta brännofferdjuret 20 och offra det tillsammans med matoffret på altaret för att skaffa försoning för honom, som därefter blir ren.

21 Om han är så fattig att han inte har råd med två lamm, får han bära fram bara ett lamm av hankön för skuldoffret. Detta ska lyftas upp som ett offer till försoning för honom. Vidare ska han som matoffer bära fram tre liter fint mjöl blandat med olja och dessutom en halv liter olja.

22 Han ska också bära fram två turturduvor eller två unga duvor efter vad han har råd till och använda en av dem till syndoffer och den andra till brännoffer. 23 Han ska på den åttonde dagen av sin rening föra fram dem till prästen vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet inför Herren. 24 Prästen ska ta skuldofferlammet och den halva litern olja och lyfta upp dem som ett lyftoffer inför Herren. 25 Sedan ska han slakta skuldofferlammet och stryka en del av dess blod på högra örat på den som ska renas, på hans högra tumme och på stortån på hans högra fot.

26 Sedan ska prästen hälla av oljan i sin vänstra hand 27 och med sitt högra pekfinger stänka av den sju gånger inför Herren. 28 Därefter ska han stryka en del av oljan från sin hand på mannens högra örsnibb, högra tumme och högra stortå ovanpå blodet från skuldoffret. 29 Det som är kvar av oljan i hans hand ska han hälla ut över huvudet på den som ska renas till försoning för honom inför Herren.

30 Sedan ska han offra en av turturduvorna eller av de två unga duvorna efter vad man haft råd med. 31 En av dem är för syndoffret och den andra för brännoffret tillsammans med matoffret. Prästen ska skaffa försoning åt den som ska renas inför Herren.” 32 Detta är lagen för dem som har blivit renade från spetälska men inte har möjlighet att bära fram de offer som vanligen fordras för reningen.

Spetälska på hus

33 Sedan talade Herren till Mose och Aron: 34 ”När ni kommer in i Kanaans land som jag har gett er och jag låter något hus där angripas av spetälskemögel, 35 ska ägaren till huset rapportera det för prästen och säga: ’Det ser ut som om det skulle vara mögel i mitt hus.’

36 Prästen ska då ge order om att huset utryms innan han undersöker det för att inte alltsammans ska anses som orent. Sedan ska han gå in och undersöka huset. 37 Om han hittar gröna eller röda fläckar på husets väggar och de tycks vara under väggens yta, 38 ska han gå ut därifrån och hålla huset stängt i sju dagar. 39 På den sjunde dagen ska prästen komma tillbaka och undersöka husets väggar igen. Om fläckarna har spritt sig på väggen 40 ska prästen ge order om att riva bort de angripna stenarna och kasta bort dem på en oren plats utanför staden. 41 Sedan ska han ge order om att man skrapar hela huset invändigt. Den avskrapade putsen ska kastas på en oren plats utanför staden. 42 Andra stenar ska ersätta dem som tagits bort och man ska putsa huset med ny lera.

43 Men om fläckarna framträder igen efter det att man har ersatt de gamla stenarna och putsen, 44 ska prästen komma tillbaka och undersöka huset. Om han ser att fläckarna har spritt sig är det mögel och huset är orent. 45 Då ska huset rivas. Alla stenar, allt timmer och puts ska bäras ut ur staden till en oren plats.

46 Den som går in i huset medan det är stängt ska vara oren till kvällen. 47 Den som sover eller äter i huset ska tvätta sina kläder.

48 Men om fläckarna inte har kommit tillbaka när prästen kommer igen för att inspektera det efter att det har blivit putsat, då ska han förklara huset rent. Då är möglet borta. 49 För att rena huset måste han ta två fåglar, cederträ, karmosinrött garn och några kvistar isop. 50 En av fåglarna ska han slakta över ett lerkärl med friskt vatten. 51 Sedan ska han doppa cederträet, isopen, det karmosinröda garnet och den levande fågeln i blodet efter den fågel som slaktats samt i det friska vattnet och bestänka huset sju gånger. 52 På så sätt ska han rena huset med fågelns blod, med det friska vattnet, med den levande fågeln, cederträt, isopen och det karmosinröda garnet. 53 Sedan ska han låta den levande fågeln flyga bort över fälten utanför staden. Så skaffar han försoning för ett hus och renar det.”

54 Detta är alltså lagen om all spetälska, skorv, 55 spetälskemögel i kläder och hus 56 och svullnader, utslag och ljusa fläckar på huden. 57 Genom den kan man avgöra om något är orent eller rent. Detta är lagen om spetälska.

3 And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper;

4 Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

5 And the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water:

6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water:

7 And he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.

8 And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.

9 But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.

10 And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.

11 And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:

12 And the priest shall take one he lamb, and offer him for a trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the Lord:

13 And he shall slay the lamb in the place where he shall kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the holy place: for as the sin offering is the priest's, so is the trespass offering: it is most holy:

14 And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:

15 And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand:

16 And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the Lord:

17 And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering:

18 And the remnant of the oil that is in the priest's hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be cleansed: and the priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord.

19 And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering:

20 And the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meat offering upon the altar: and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and he shall be clean.

21 And if he be poor, and cannot get so much; then he shall take one lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make an atonement for him, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil;

22 And two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.

23 And he shall bring them on the eighth day for his cleansing unto the priest, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, before the Lord.

24 And the priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the Lord:

35 And he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, It seemeth to me there is as it were a plague in the house:

36 Then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest go into it to see the plague, that all that is in the house be not made unclean: and afterward the priest shall go in to see the house:

37 And he shall look on the plague, and, behold, if the plague be in the walls of the house with hollow strakes, greenish or reddish, which in sight are lower than the wall;

38 Then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days:

39 And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house;

40 Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city:

41 And he shall cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they shall pour out the dust that they scrape off without the city into an unclean place:

42 And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other morter, and shall plaister the house.

43 And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plaistered;

44 Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house; it is unclean.

45 And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.

46 Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even.

47 And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes.

48 And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.

49 And he shall take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop:

50 And he shall kill the one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water:

51 And he shall take the cedar wood, and the hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times:

52 And he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet:

53 But he shall let go the living bird out of the city into the open fields, and make an atonement for the house: and it shall be clean.

54 This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall,

55 And for the leprosy of a garment, and of a house,

56 And for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot:

57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.

The Law Concerning Leprous Houses

33 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: 34 (AE)“When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give you as a possession, and (AF)I put the [e]leprous plague in a house in the land of your possession, 35 and he who owns the house comes and tells the priest, saying, ‘It seems to me that there is (AG)some plague in the house,’ 36 then the priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes into it to examine the plague, that all that is in the house may not be made unclean; and afterward the priest shall go in to examine the house. 37 And he shall examine the plague; and indeed if the plague is on the walls of the house with ingrained streaks, greenish or reddish, which appear to be [f]deep in the wall, 38 then the priest shall go out of the house, to the door of the house, and [g]shut up the house seven days. 39 And the priest shall come again on the seventh day and look; and indeed if the plague has spread on the walls of the house, 40 then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which is the plague, and they shall cast them into an unclean place outside the city. 41 And he shall cause the house to be scraped inside, all around, and the dust that they scrape off they shall pour out in an unclean place outside the city. 42 Then they shall take other stones and put them in the place of those stones, and he shall take other mortar and plaster the house.

43 “Now if the plague comes back and breaks out in the house, after he has taken away the stones, after he has scraped the house, and after it is plastered, 44 then the priest shall come and look; and indeed if the plague has spread in the house, it is (AH)an active leprosy in the house. It is unclean. 45 And he shall break down the house, its stones, its timber, and all the plaster of the house, and he shall carry them outside the city to an unclean place. 46 Moreover he who goes into the house at all while it is shut up shall be [h]unclean (AI)until evening. 47 And he who lies down in the house shall (AJ)wash his clothes, and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes.

48 “But if the priest comes in and examines it, and indeed the plague has not spread in the house after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed. 49 And (AK)he shall take, to cleanse the house, two birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop. 50 Then he shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water; 51 and he shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times. 52 And he shall [i]cleanse the house with the blood of the bird and the running water and the living bird, with the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the scarlet. 53 Then he shall let the living bird loose outside the city in the open field, and (AL)make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean.

54 “This is the law for any (AM)leprous sore and scale, 55 for the (AN)leprosy of a garment (AO)and of a house, 56 (AP)for a swelling and a scab and a bright spot, 57 to (AQ)teach when it is unclean and when it is clean. This is the law of leprosy.”

Cleansing From Defiling Skin Diseases

14 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “These are the regulations for any diseased person at the time of their ceremonial cleansing, when they are brought to the priest:(A) 3 The priest is to go outside the camp and examine them.(B) If they have been healed of their defiling skin disease,[a](C) 4 the priest shall order that two live clean birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop(D) be brought for the person to be cleansed.(E) 5 Then the priest shall order that one of the birds be killed over fresh water in a clay pot.(F) 6 He is then to take the live bird and dip it, together with the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn and the hyssop, into the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water.(G) 7 Seven times(H) he shall sprinkle(I) the one to be cleansed of the defiling disease, and then pronounce them clean. After that, he is to release the live bird in the open fields.(J)

8 “The person to be cleansed must wash their clothes,(K) shave off all their hair and bathe with water;(L) then they will be ceremonially clean.(M) After this they may come into the camp,(N) but they must stay outside their tent for seven days. 9 On the seventh day(O) they must shave off all their hair;(P) they must shave their head, their beard, their eyebrows and the rest of their hair. They must wash their clothes and bathe themselves with water, and they will be clean.(Q)

10 “On the eighth day(R) they must bring two male lambs and one ewe lamb(S) a year old, each without defect, along with three-tenths of an ephah[b](T) of the finest flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering,(U) and one log[c] of oil.(V) 11 The priest who pronounces them clean shall present(W) both the one to be cleansed and their offerings before the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting.(X)

12 “Then the priest is to take one of the male lambs and offer it as a guilt offering,(Y) along with the log of oil; he shall wave them before the Lord as a wave offering.(Z) 13 He is to slaughter the lamb in the sanctuary area(AA) where the sin offering[d] and the burnt offering are slaughtered. Like the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest;(AB) it is most holy. 14 The priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot.(AC) 15 The priest shall then take some of the log of oil, pour it in the palm of his own left hand,(AD) 16 dip his right forefinger into the oil in his palm, and with his finger sprinkle some of it before the Lord seven times.(AE) 17 The priest is to put some of the oil remaining in his palm on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.(AF) 18 The rest of the oil in his palm the priest shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed(AG) and make atonement for them before the Lord.

19 “Then the priest is to sacrifice the sin offering and make atonement for the one to be cleansed from their uncleanness.(AH) After that, the priest shall slaughter the burnt offering 20 and offer it on the altar, together with the grain offering, and make atonement for them,(AI) and they will be clean.(AJ)

21 “If, however, they are poor(AK) and cannot afford these,(AL) they must take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to make atonement for them, together with a tenth of an ephah[e] of the finest flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of oil, 22 and two doves or two young pigeons,(AM) such as they can afford, one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.(AN)

23 “On the eighth day they must bring them for their cleansing to the priest at the entrance to the tent of meeting,(AO) before the Lord.(AP) 24 The priest is to take the lamb for the guilt offering,(AQ) together with the log of oil,(AR) and wave them before the Lord as a wave offering.(AS) 25 He shall slaughter the lamb for the guilt offering and take some of its blood and put it on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot.(AT) 26 The priest is to pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand,(AU) 27 and with his right forefinger sprinkle some of the oil from his palm seven times before the Lord. 28 Some of the oil in his palm he is to put on the same places he put the blood of the guilt offering—on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot. 29 The rest of the oil in his palm the priest shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed, to make atonement for them before the Lord.(AV) 30 Then he shall sacrifice the doves or the young pigeons, such as the person can afford,(AW) 31 one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering,(AX) together with the grain offering. In this way the priest will make atonement before the Lord on behalf of the one to be cleansed.(AY)”

32 These are the regulations for anyone who has a defiling skin disease(AZ) and who cannot afford the regular offerings(BA) for their cleansing.

Cleansing From Defiling Molds

33 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 34 “When you enter the land of Canaan,(BB) which I am giving you as your possession,(BC) and I put a spreading mold in a house in that land, 35 the owner of the house must go and tell the priest, ‘I have seen something that looks like a defiling mold in my house.’ 36 The priest is to order the house to be emptied before he goes in to examine the mold, so that nothing in the house will be pronounced unclean. After this the priest is to go in and inspect the house. 37 He is to examine the mold on the walls, and if it has greenish or reddish(BD) depressions that appear to be deeper than the surface of the wall, 38 the priest shall go out the doorway of the house and close it up for seven days.(BE) 39 On the seventh day(BF) the priest shall return to inspect the house. If the mold has spread on the walls, 40 he is to order that the contaminated stones be torn out and thrown into an unclean place outside the town.(BG) 41 He must have all the inside walls of the house scraped and the material that is scraped off dumped into an unclean place outside the town. 42 Then they are to take other stones to replace these and take new clay and plaster the house.

43 “If the defiling mold reappears in the house after the stones have been torn out and the house scraped and plastered, 44 the priest is to go and examine it and, if the mold has spread in the house, it is a persistent defiling mold; the house is unclean.(BH) 45 It must be torn down—its stones, timbers and all the plaster—and taken out of the town to an unclean place.

46 “Anyone who goes into the house while it is closed up will be unclean till evening.(BI) 47 Anyone who sleeps or eats in the house must wash their clothes.(BJ)

48 “But if the priest comes to examine it and the mold has not spread after the house has been plastered, he shall pronounce the house clean,(BK) because the defiling mold is gone. 49 To purify the house he is to take two birds and some cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop.(BL) 50 He shall kill one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.(BM) 51 Then he is to take the cedar wood, the hyssop,(BN) the scarlet yarn and the live bird, dip them into the blood of the dead bird and the fresh water, and sprinkle the house seven times.(BO) 52 He shall purify the house with the bird’s blood, the fresh water, the live bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop and the scarlet yarn. 53 Then he is to release the live bird in the open fields(BP) outside the town. In this way he will make atonement for the house, and it will be clean.(BQ)”

54 These are the regulations for any defiling skin disease,(BR) for a sore, 55 for defiling molds(BS) in fabric or in a house, 56 and for a swelling, a rash or a shiny spot,(BT) 57 to determine when something is clean or unclean.
