Syndoffret
4 Herren talade till Mose. Han sade: 2 Säg till Israels barn: Om någon syndar av misstag mot något av Herrens bud och gör något som inte får göras, 3 skall den smorde prästen, om det är han som har syndat och därmed dragit skuld över folket, offra en felfri ungtjur åt Herren till syndoffer för den synd han har begått. 4 Han skall föra fram tjuren inför Herrens ansikte till uppenbarelsetältets ingång och han skall lägga sin hand på tjurens huvud och sedan slakta tjuren inför Herren. 5 Den smorde prästen skall ta av tjurens blod och bära in det i uppenbarelsetältet, 6 och han skall doppa sitt finger i blodet och stänka det sju gånger inför Herrens ansikte framför förlåten till helgedomen.
7 Därefter skall prästen stryka med blodet på hornen på den väldoftande rökelsens altare, som står inför Herrens ansikte i uppenbarelsetältet. Men allt det övriga blodet från tjuren skall han hälla ut vid foten av brännoffersaltaret, som står vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet. 8 Och allt fett på syndofferstjuren skall han avlägsna, det fett som omsluter inälvorna och allt det fett som sitter på dem, 9 de båda njurarna med det fett som sitter på dem vid höftmusklerna samt leverfettet, som han skall ta loss tillsammans med njurarna. 10 Fettet skall tas ut så som det tas ut ur tjuren för gemenskapsoffret. Och prästen skall bränna det på brännoffersaltaret. 11 Men tjurens hud och allt hans kött, hans huvud, fötter, inälvor och orenhet, 12 allt det övriga av tjuren, skall han föra bort utanför lägret till en ren plats, där man slår ut askan, och bränna upp det i eld som brinner på ved. På den plats där man slår ut askan skall det brännas.
13 Om Israels hela menighet försyndar sig utan att församlingen märker det och de bryter mot något av Herrens bud och gör sådant som inte får göras och därigenom ådrar sig skuld, 14 och sedan den synd de har begått blir känd, då skall församlingen offra en ungtjur till syndoffer. De skall föra fram den inför uppenbarelsetältet. 15 Och de äldste i menigheten skall lägga sina händer på tjurens huvud inför Herrens ansikte, och man skall slakta tjuren inför Herren. 16 Den smorde prästen skall bära något av tjurens blod in i uppenbarelsetältet, 17 och prästen skall doppa sitt finger i blodet och stänka sju gånger framför förlåten inför Herrens ansikte.
18 Därefter skall han stryka en del av blodet på hornen på det altare som står inför Herrens ansikte i uppenbarelsetältet. Men allt det övriga blodet skall han hälla ut vid foten av brännoffersaltaret, som står vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet. 19 Allt fett skall han ta ut ur tjuren och bränna det på altaret. 20 Och han skall göra med tjuren som han gjorde med syndofferstjuren, så skall han göra med den. När prästen bringar försoning för dem, får de förlåtelse. 21 Sedan skall han föra ut tjuren utanför lägret och bränna den, så som han skulle göra med den förra tjuren. Detta är syndoffret för församlingen.
22 Om en ledare syndar genom att han av misstag bryter mot något av Herrens, sin Guds, bud och gör sådant som inte får göras och han därigenom ådrar sig skuld, 23 eller om han av någon får veta vilken synd han har begått, skall han som sitt offer föra fram en bock, ett felfritt djur av hankön. 24 Han skall lägga sin hand på bockens huvud och sedan slakta den inför Herrens ansikte på samma plats som man slaktar brännoffret. Det är ett syndoffer. 25 Prästen skall ta något av syndoffrets blod på sitt finger och stryka på brännoffersaltarets horn, men det övriga blodet skall han hälla ut vid foten av brännoffersaltaret. 26 Allt fettet skall han bränna på altaret, så som man gör med fettet vid gemenskapsoffret. Och när prästen bringar försoning för honom till rening från hans synd, får han förlåtelse.
27 Om någon av folket i landet syndar av misstag genom att göra sådant som inte får göras enligt Herrens bud och därigenom ådrar sig skuld, 28 eller om han av någon får veta vilken synd han har begått, så skall han som sitt offer för den begångna synden föra fram en felfri get av honkön. 29 Han skall lägga sin hand på syndoffersdjurets huvud och sedan slakta det på den plats där brännoffersdjuren slaktas. 30 Prästen skall ta något av blodet på sitt finger och stryka det på brännoffersaltarets horn, men allt det övriga blodet skall han hälla ut vid altarets fot. 31 Allt fettet skall han ta ut så som fettet tas ut ur djuret till gemenskapsoffret och prästen skall bränna det på altaret till en ljuvlig doft för Herren. Och när prästen bringar försoning för honom, får han förlåtelse.
32 Men om någon vill offra ett lamm till syndoffer, skall han föra fram ett felfritt djur av honkön. 33 Han skall lägga sin hand på syndoffersdjurets huvud och slakta det till syndoffer på samma plats som man slaktar brännoffersdjuren. 34 Prästen skall ta av syndoffrets blod på sitt finger och stryka det på brännoffersaltarets horn. Men allt det övriga blodet skall han hälla ut vid altarets fot. 35 Allt fettet skall han ta ut så som fettet tas ut ur lammet till gemenskapsoffret och prästen skall bränna det på altaret, ovanpå Herrens eldsoffer. Och när prästen bringar försoning för den synd han har begått, får han förlåtelse.

4 Herren gav också följande föreskrifter till Mose:
2 Säg till Israels folk att dessa lagar gäller för dem som oavsiktligt bryter mot någon av mina föreskrifter.
3 Om den smorde prästen syndar oavsiktligt och drar skuld över folket, måste han offra en ung, felfri tjur som ett syndoffer inför Herren.
4 Han ska föra fram den till ingången till tabernaklet, lägga sin hand på dess huvud och slakta den inför Herren.
5 Sedan ska prästen bära in något av djurets blod i tabernaklet,
6 doppa sitt finger i blodet och stänka det sju gånger inför Herren, framför förhänget till det allraheligaste.
7 Prästen ska sedan stryka en del av blodet på rökelsealtarets horn. Resten av blodet ska hällas ut vid foten av brännofferaltaret, vid ingången till tältet.
8 Sedan ska han ta fettet runt inälvorna,
9 de båda njurarna och fettet runt dem, fettet på låren och på levern
10 och bränna det som ett eldsoffer, precis som man gör med tjuren eller kon när man bär fram tackoffer.
11-12 Men det som blir kvar av den unga tjuren, hud, kött, huvud, inälvor och tarmar, ska föras bort till den utvalda och rena plats utanför lägret dit askan bärs från altaret. Där ska alltsammans brännas upp med ved.
13 Om hela Israels folk syndar utan att förstå det genom att göra något som Herren har förbjudit, är det ändå skyldigt.
14 När man har insett detta, ska en ung tjur offras som syndoffer och föras fram till tabernaklet.
15 Där ska folkets ledare lägga sina händer på djurets huvud och slakta det inför Herren.
16 Sedan ska den smorde prästen bära in en del av dess blod i tabernaklet,
17 doppa sitt finger i blodet och stänka sju gånger inför Herren framför förhänget.
18 Därefter ska han stryka blod på hornen på altaret i tabernaklet inför Herren, och resten av blodet ska hällas ut vid foten av brännofferaltaret vid ingången till tältet.
19 Allt fett ska tas bort och brännas på altaret.
20 Han ska följa samma procedur som när man bär fram syndoffer. På så sätt ska prästen skaffa försoning för folket, och var och en ska bli förlåten.
21 Prästen ska släpa ut den offrade tjuren utanför lägret och bränna den där, precis som om den varit ett syndoffer för en enskild person, men vid dessa tillfällen gäller offren för hela folket.
22 Om någon av ledarna syndar utan att inse det och gör sig skyldig till olydnad mot Guds lagar,
23 ska han, så snart detta blir klart för honom, som offer bära fram en felfri bock.
24 Han ska lägga sin hand på dess huvud och slakta den på samma plats som man slaktar brännoffren, och sedan ska han bära fram offret inför Herren. Detta är hans syndoffer.
25 Sedan ska prästen ta en del av blodet och stryka det med sitt finger på hornen till brännofferaltaret. Resten av blodet ska hällas ut vid foten av altaret.
26 Allt fett ska brännas upp på altaret, alldeles som om det var fettet från ett tackoffer. På så sätt ska prästen försona ledarens synd och han ska få förlåtelse.
27 Om någon av folket syndar och inte inser det, är han skyldig.
28 Men så snart han förstår det, ska han som offer bära fram en felfri bock till försoning för sin synd.
29 Han ska föra fram den till det ställe där man slaktar djuren för brännoffren, lägga sin hand på syndoffret och slakta det.
30 Prästen ska ta en del av blodet och med sitt finger stryka det på brännofferaltarets horn. Resten ska han hälla ut vid altarets fot.
31 Allt fettet ska tas ut, precis som vid ett tackoffer, prästen ska bränna det på altaret och Herren ska ta emot offret med välbehag. På så sätt blir mannens synd försonad, och han får förlåtelse.
32 Men om han väljer att bära fram ett lamm som syndoffer, ska det vara en felfri hona.
33 Han ska leda fram det till det ställe där brännoffren slaktas, lägga sin hand på dess huvud och slakta det som ett syndoffer.
34 Prästen ska ta en del av blodet och med sitt finger stryka det på brännofferaltarets horn, och resten av blodet ska hällas ut vid altarets fot.
35 Fettet ska tas bort, som när man bär fram lamm till tackoffer, och prästen ska bränna det på altaret ovanpå det brännoffer, som offrats till Herren. Prästen skaffar på så sätt försoning för den som syndat och hans synd blir försonad.

4 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, (A)If anyone sins unintentionally[a] in any of the Lord's commandments (B)about things not to be done, and does any one of them, 3 if it is the anointed priest who (C)sins, thus bringing guilt on the people, then he shall offer for the sin that he has committed (D)a bull from the herd without blemish to the Lord for a sin offering. 4 He shall bring the bull to the (E)entrance of the tent of meeting before the Lord and lay his hand on the head of the bull and kill the bull before the Lord. 5 And the anointed priest (F)shall take some of the blood of the bull and bring it into the tent of meeting, 6 and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and (G)sprinkle part of the blood seven times before the Lord in front of the veil of the sanctuary. 7 And the priest (H)shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the Lord that is in the tent of meeting, and (I)all the rest of the blood of the bull he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 8 And all the fat of the bull of the sin offering he shall remove from it, (J)the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails 9 (K)and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them at the loins and the long lobe of the liver that he shall remove with the kidneys 10 (just as these are taken from the ox of the sacrifice of the peace offerings); and the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. 11 But (L)the skin of the bull and all its flesh, with its head, its legs, its entrails, and its dung— 12 all the rest of the bull—he shall carry (M)outside the camp to a clean place, to the ash heap, and shall (N)burn it up on a fire of wood. On the ash heap it shall be burned up.
13 (O)“If the whole congregation of Israel sins unintentionally[b] and (P)the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they do any one of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, and they realize their guilt,[c] 14 (Q)when the sin which they have committed becomes known, the assembly shall offer a bull from the herd for a sin offering and bring it in front of the tent of meeting. 15 And the elders of the congregation (R)shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before the Lord, and the bull shall be killed before the Lord. 16 Then (S)the anointed priest shall bring some of the blood of the bull into the tent of meeting, 17 and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord in front of the veil. 18 And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is in the tent of meeting before the Lord, and the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 19 And all its fat he shall take from it and burn on the altar. 20 Thus shall he do with the bull. As he did (T)with the bull of the sin offering, so shall he do with this. 22 “When a leader sins, (W)doing unintentionally any one of all the things that by the commandments of the Lord his God ought not to be done, and realizes his guilt, 23 or (X)the sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring as his offering a goat, a male without blemish, 24 and (Y)shall lay his hand on the head of the goat and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the Lord; it is a sin offering. 25 (Z)Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering. 26 And all its fat he shall burn on the altar, like (AA)the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings. So (AB)the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin, and he shall be forgiven.
27 “If (AC)anyone of the common people sins unintentionally in doing any one of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, and realizes his guilt, 28 (AD)or the sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. 29 (AE)And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill the sin offering in the place of burnt offering. 30 And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. 31 And (AF)all its fat he shall remove, (AG)as the fat is removed from the peace offerings, and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a (AH)pleasing aroma to the Lord. 32 “If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring (AJ)a female without blemish 33 (AK)and lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering. 34 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. 35 And all its fat he shall remove (AL)as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings, and the priest shall burn it on the altar, on top of the Lord's food offerings. (AM)And the priest shall make atonement for him for the sin which he has committed, and he shall be forgiven.

3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering.
4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the Lord.
5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, before the vail of the sanctuary.
7 And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

27 And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;

29 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
30 And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.
31 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the Lord; and the priest shall make an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
32 And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish.
33 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering.
34 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar:
35 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lord: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him.
