The Sin Offering
4 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘When anyone sins unintentionally(A) and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands(B)—
3 “‘If the anointed priest(C) sins,(D) bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the Lord a young bull(E) without defect(F) as a sin offering[a](G) for the sin he has committed.(H) 4 He is to present the bull at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord.(I) He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it there before the Lord. 5 Then the anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood(J) and carry it into the tent of meeting. 6 He is to dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle(K) some of it seven times before the Lord,(L) in front of the curtain of the sanctuary.(M) 7 The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns(N) of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the bull’s blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar(O) of burnt offering(P) at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 8 He shall remove all the fat(Q) from the bull of the sin offering—all the fat that is connected to the internal organs, 9 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys(R)— 10 just as the fat is removed from the ox[b](S) sacrificed as a fellowship offering.(T) Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.(U) 11 But the hide of the bull and all its flesh, as well as the head and legs, the internal organs and the intestines(V)— 12 that is, all the rest of the bull—he must take outside the camp(W) to a place ceremonially clean,(X) where the ashes(Y) are thrown, and burn it(Z) there in a wood fire on the ash heap.(AA)
13 “‘If the whole Israelite community sins unintentionally(AB) and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though the community is unaware of the matter, when they realize their guilt 14 and the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly must bring a young bull(AC) as a sin offering(AD) and present it before the tent of meeting. 15 The elders(AE) of the community are to lay their hands(AF) on the bull’s head(AG) before the Lord, and the bull shall be slaughtered before the Lord.(AH) 16 Then the anointed priest is to take some of the bull’s blood(AI) into the tent of meeting. 17 He shall dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle(AJ) it before the Lord(AK) seven times in front of the curtain. 18 He is to put some of the blood(AL) on the horns of the altar that is before the Lord(AM) in the tent of meeting. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar(AN) of burnt offering at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 19 He shall remove all the fat(AO) from it and burn it on the altar,(AP) 20 and do with this bull just as he did with the bull for the sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement(AQ) for the community, and they will be forgiven.(AR) 21 Then he shall take the bull outside the camp(AS) and burn it as he burned the first bull. This is the sin offering for the community.(AT)
22 “‘When a leader(AU) sins unintentionally(AV) and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the Lord his God, when he realizes his guilt 23 and the sin he has committed becomes known, he must bring as his offering a male goat(AW) without defect. 24 He is to lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the Lord.(AX) It is a sin offering.(AY) 25 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar(AZ) of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.(BA) 26 He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement(BB) for the leader’s sin, and he will be forgiven.(BC)
27 “‘If any member of the community sins unintentionally(BD) and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, when they realize their guilt 28 and the sin they have committed becomes known, they must bring as their offering(BE) for the sin they committed a female goat(BF) without defect. 29 They are to lay their hand on the head(BG) of the sin offering(BH) and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering.(BI) 30 Then the priest is to take some of the blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering(BJ) and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 31 They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar(BK) as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(BL) In this way the priest will make atonement(BM) for them, and they will be forgiven.(BN)
32 “‘If someone brings a lamb(BO) as their sin offering, they are to bring a female without defect.(BP) 33 They are to lay their hand on its head and slaughter it(BQ) for a sin offering(BR) at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered.(BS) 34 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.(BT) 35 They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the lamb of the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar(BU) on top of the food offerings presented to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.

El sacrificio expiatorio por el pecado del sacerdote
3 »Si el que peca es el sacerdote ungido, haciendo con ello culpable al pueblo, deberá ofrecer al Señor, como sacrificio expiatorio por su pecado, un novillo sin defecto. 4 Llevará el novillo ante el Señor, a la entrada de la Tienda de reunión, e impondrá la mano sobre la cabeza del novillo, al que degollará en presencia del Señor. 5 El sacerdote ungido tomará un poco de la sangre del novillo y la llevará a la Tienda de reunión. 6 Mojará el dedo en la sangre, y rociará con ella siete veces en dirección a la cortina del santuario, en presencia del Señor. 7 Después el sacerdote untará un poco de la sangre en los cuernos del altar del incienso aromático, que está ante el Señor, en la Tienda de reunión. El resto de la sangre del novillo la derramará al pie del altar del holocausto, que está a la entrada de la Tienda de reunión. 8 Luego, al novillo del sacrificio expiatorio le sacará toda la grasa que cubre los intestinos, y la que se adhiere a estos, 9 los dos riñones y la grasa que los cubre, la grasa que cubre los lomos, y también el lóbulo del hígado, el cual se extraerá junto con los riñones. 10 Esto se hará tal y como se saca la grasa de la res para el sacrificio de comunión. Entonces el sacerdote quemará todo esto en el altar del holocausto, 11 pero sacará del campamento la piel y toda la carne del novillo, junto con la cabeza, las patas, los intestinos y el excremento. 12 Todo esto, es decir, el resto del novillo, lo sacará del campamento y lo llevará a un lugar ritualmente puro, al vertedero de la ceniza, y dejará que se consuma sobre la leña encendida. Sobre el vertedero de la ceniza se consumirá.

13 »Si la que peca inadvertidamente es toda la comunidad de Israel, toda la asamblea será culpable de haber hecho algo que los mandamientos del Señor prohíben. 14 Cuando la asamblea se dé cuenta del pecado que ha cometido, deberá ofrecer un novillo como sacrificio expiatorio. Lo llevarán a la Tienda de reunión, 15 y allí, en presencia del Señor, los ancianos de la comunidad impondrán las manos sobre la cabeza del novillo y lo degollarán. 16 Luego el sacerdote ungido tomará un poco de la sangre del novillo y la llevará a la Tienda de reunión. 17 Mojará el dedo en la sangre, y rociará con ella siete veces en dirección a la cortina en presencia del Señor. 18 Después untará un poco de la sangre en los cuernos del altar, que está ante el Señor, en la Tienda de reunión. El resto de la sangre la derramará al pie del altar del holocausto, que está a la entrada de la Tienda de reunión, 19 y sacará del animal toda la grasa, quemándola en el altar. 20 Se hará con este novillo lo mismo que se hace con el de la ofrenda expiatoria. Así el sacerdote hará expiación por ellos, y serán perdonados. 21 Luego sacará del campamento el resto del novillo y dejará que se consuma en el fuego, como el otro. Este es el sacrificio expiatorio por la asamblea.
El sacrificio expiatorio por el pecado de un gobernante
22 »Si el que peca inadvertidamente es uno de los gobernantes, e incurre en algo que los mandamientos del Señor su Dios prohíben, será culpable. 23 Cuando se le haga saber que ha cometido un pecado, llevará como ofrenda un macho cabrío sin defecto, 24 pondrá la mano sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, y lo degollará en presencia del Señor, en el mismo lugar donde se degüellan los animales para el holocausto. Es un sacrificio expiatorio. 25 Entonces el sacerdote tomará con el dedo un poco de la sangre del sacrificio expiatorio y la untará en los cuernos del altar del holocausto, después de lo cual derramará al pie del altar del holocausto el resto de la sangre. 26 Toda la grasa del animal la quemará en el altar, tal como se hace con el sacrificio de comunión. Así el sacerdote hará expiación por el pecado del gobernante, y su pecado le será perdonado.

27 »Si el que peca inadvertidamente es alguien del pueblo, e incurre en algo que los mandamientos del Señor prohíben, será culpable. 28 Cuando se le haga saber que ha cometido un pecado, llevará como ofrenda por su pecado una cabra sin defecto. 29 Pondrá la mano sobre la cabeza del animal, y lo degollará en el lugar donde se degüellan los animales para el holocausto. 30 Entonces el sacerdote tomará con el dedo un poco de la sangre y la untará en los cuernos del altar del holocausto, después de lo cual derramará el resto de la sangre al pie del altar. 31 Luego le sacará al animal toda la grasa, tal y como se le saca la grasa al sacrificio de comunión, y el sacerdote la quemará toda en el altar, como aroma grato al Señor. Así el sacerdote hará expiación por él, y su pecado le será perdonado.
32 »Si la persona ofrece como sacrificio expiatorio un cordero, deberá presentar una hembra sin defecto. 33 Pondrá la mano sobre la cabeza del animal, y lo degollará como sacrificio expiatorio en el lugar donde se degüellan los animales para el holocausto. 34 Entonces el sacerdote tomará con el dedo un poco de la sangre del sacrificio expiatorio y la untará en los cuernos del altar del holocausto, después de lo cual derramará al pie del altar el resto de la sangre. 35 Luego le sacará al animal toda la grasa, tal y como se le saca la grasa al cordero del sacrificio de comunión, y el sacerdote la quemará en el altar sobre la ofrenda presentada por fuego al Señor. Así el sacerdote hará expiación por esa persona, y el pecado que haya cometido le será perdonado.

4 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering.
4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the Lord.
5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, before the vail of the sanctuary.
7 And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
8 And he shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
9 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away,
10 As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.
11 And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung,
12 Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.
13 And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;
14 When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation.
15 And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before the Lord: and the bullock shall be killed before the Lord.
16 And the priest that is anointed shall bring of the bullock's blood to the tabernacle of the congregation:
17 And the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, even before the vail.

Han sade: 2 Säg till Israels barn: Om någon syndar av misstag mot något av Herrens bud och gör något som inte får göras, 3 skall den smorde prästen, om det är han som har syndat och därmed dragit skuld över folket, offra en felfri ungtjur åt Herren till syndoffer för den synd han har begått. 4 Han skall föra fram tjuren inför Herrens ansikte till uppenbarelsetältets ingång och han skall lägga sin hand på tjurens huvud och sedan slakta tjuren inför Herren. 5 Den smorde prästen skall ta av tjurens blod och bära in det i uppenbarelsetältet, 6 och han skall doppa sitt finger i blodet och stänka det sju gånger inför Herrens ansikte framför förlåten till helgedomen.
7 Därefter skall prästen stryka med blodet på hornen på den väldoftande rökelsens altare, som står inför Herrens ansikte i uppenbarelsetältet. Men allt det övriga blodet från tjuren skall han hälla ut vid foten av brännoffersaltaret, som står vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet. 8 Och allt fett på syndofferstjuren skall han avlägsna, det fett som omsluter inälvorna och allt det fett som sitter på dem, 9 de båda njurarna med det fett som sitter på dem vid höftmusklerna samt leverfettet, som han skall ta loss tillsammans med njurarna. 10 Fettet skall tas ut så som det tas ut ur tjuren för gemenskapsoffret. Och prästen skall bränna det på brännoffersaltaret. 11 Men tjurens hud och allt hans kött, hans huvud, fötter, inälvor och orenhet, 12 allt det övriga av tjuren, skall han föra bort utanför lägret till en ren plats, där man slår ut askan, och bränna upp det i eld som brinner på ved. På den plats där man slår ut askan skall det brännas.
13 Om Israels hela menighet försyndar sig utan att församlingen märker det och de bryter mot något av Herrens bud och gör sådant som inte får göras och därigenom ådrar sig skuld, 14 och sedan den synd de har begått blir känd, då skall församlingen offra en ungtjur till syndoffer. De skall föra fram den inför uppenbarelsetältet. 15 Och de äldste i menigheten skall lägga sina händer på tjurens huvud inför Herrens ansikte, och man skall slakta tjuren inför Herren. 16 Den smorde prästen skall bära något av tjurens blod in i uppenbarelsetältet, 17 och prästen skall doppa sitt finger i blodet och stänka sju gånger framför förlåten inför Herrens ansikte.
18 Därefter skall han stryka en del av blodet på hornen på det altare som står inför Herrens ansikte i uppenbarelsetältet. Men allt det övriga blodet skall han hälla ut vid foten av brännoffersaltaret, som står vid ingången till uppenbarelsetältet. 19 Allt fett skall han ta ut ur tjuren och bränna det på altaret. 20 Och han skall göra med tjuren som han gjorde med syndofferstjuren, så skall han göra med den. När prästen bringar försoning för dem, får de förlåtelse. 21 Sedan skall han föra ut tjuren utanför lägret och bränna den, så som han skulle göra med den förra tjuren. Detta är syndoffret för församlingen.
22 Om en ledare syndar genom att han av misstag bryter mot något av Herrens, sin Guds, bud och gör sådant som inte får göras och han därigenom ådrar sig skuld, 23 eller om han av någon får veta vilken synd han har begått, skall han som sitt offer föra fram en bock, ett felfritt djur av hankön. 24 Han skall lägga sin hand på bockens huvud och sedan slakta den inför Herrens ansikte på samma plats som man slaktar brännoffret. Det är ett syndoffer. 25 Prästen skall ta något av syndoffrets blod på sitt finger och stryka på brännoffersaltarets horn, men det övriga blodet skall han hälla ut vid foten av brännoffersaltaret. 26 Allt fettet skall han bränna på altaret, så som man gör med fettet vid gemenskapsoffret. Och när prästen bringar försoning för honom till rening från hans synd, får han förlåtelse.
27 Om någon av folket i landet syndar av misstag genom att göra sådant som inte får göras enligt Herrens bud och därigenom ådrar sig skuld, 28 eller om han av någon får veta vilken synd han har begått, så skall han som sitt offer för den begångna synden föra fram en felfri get av honkön. 29 Han skall lägga sin hand på syndoffersdjurets huvud och sedan slakta det på den plats där brännoffersdjuren slaktas. 30 Prästen skall ta något av blodet på sitt finger och stryka det på brännoffersaltarets horn, men allt det övriga blodet skall han hälla ut vid altarets fot. 31 Allt fettet skall han ta ut så som fettet tas ut ur djuret till gemenskapsoffret och prästen skall bränna det på altaret till en ljuvlig doft för Herren. Och när prästen bringar försoning för honom, får han förlåtelse.
32 Men om någon vill offra ett lamm till syndoffer, skall han föra fram ett felfritt djur av honkön. 33 Han skall lägga sin hand på syndoffersdjurets huvud och slakta det till syndoffer på samma plats som man slaktar brännoffersdjuren. 34 Prästen skall ta av syndoffrets blod på sitt finger och stryka det på brännoffersaltarets horn. Men allt det övriga blodet skall han hälla ut vid altarets fot. 35 Allt fettet skall han ta ut så som fettet tas ut ur lammet till gemenskapsoffret och prästen skall bränna det på altaret, ovanpå Herrens eldsoffer. Och när prästen bringar försoning för den synd han har begått, får han förlåtelse.

It is a sin offering. 25 (W)The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering. 26 And he shall burn all its fat on the altar, like (X)the fat of the sacrifice of the peace offering. (Y)So the priest shall make [e]atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.
27 (Z)‘If [f]anyone of the [g]common people sins unintentionally by doing something against any of the commandments of the Lord in anything which ought not to be done, and is guilty, 28 or (AA)if his sin which he has committed comes to his knowledge, then he shall bring as his offering a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he has committed. 29 (AB)And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill the sin offering at the place of the burnt offering. 30 Then the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour all the remaining blood at the base of the altar. 31 (AC)He shall remove all its fat, (AD)as fat is removed from the sacrifice of the peace offering; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for a (AE)sweet aroma to the Lord. (AF)So the priest shall make atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
32 ‘If he brings a lamb as his sin offering, (AG)he shall bring a female without blemish. 33 Then he shall (AH)lay his hand on the head of the sin offering, and kill it as a sin offering at the place where they kill the burnt offering. 34 The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour all the remaining blood at the base of the altar. 35 He shall remove all its fat, as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of the peace offering. Then the priest shall burn it on the altar, (AI)according to the offerings made by fire to the Lord. (AJ)So the priest shall make atonement for his sin that he has committed, and it shall be forgiven him.
