Der Leuchter und die Gott geweihten Brote
24 Der Herr sprach zu Mose: 2 »Sag den Israeliten, sie sollen dir reines Olivenöl von bester Qualität für den Leuchter bringen, damit die Lampen ständig brennen. 3 Aaron soll den Leuchter im heiligen Zelt aufstellen – vor dem Vorhang zum Allerheiligsten, in dem die Bundeslade steht. Vom Abend bis zum Morgen soll das Licht brennen und mein Heiligtum erhellen. Diese Weisung gilt für euch und alle kommenden Generationen. 4 Aaron muss dafür sorgen, dass die Lampen auf dem goldenen Leuchter im Heiligtum nicht verlöschen!
5 Backt zwölf Fladenbrote, jedes aus zweieinhalb Kilogramm Weizenmehl, 6 und legt sie in zwei Stapeln zu je sechs Broten auf den goldenen Tisch in meinem Heiligtum! 7 Dann sollt ihr reinen Weihrauch dazulegen und ihn – anstelle der Brote – zu meinem Gedenken auf dem Altar verbrennen. 8 An jedem Sabbat werden neue Brote im Heiligtum aufgeschichtet. Dazu sind die Israeliten in unserem Bund für alle Zeiten verpflichtet! 9 Nur Aaron und seine Söhne dürfen von den Broten im Bereich des Heiligtums essen. Sie stehen ihnen für alle Zeiten als Anteil an den besonders heiligen Gaben zu.«
Strafen für Gotteslästerung, Mord und Körperverletzung
10-11 Im Lager der Israeliten lebte ein Mann, der eine israelitische Mutter und einen ägyptischen Vater hatte. Seine Mutter hieß Schelomit, sie war eine Tochter Dibris und gehörte zum Stamm Dan. Dieser Mann geriet eines Tages mit einem Israeliten in Streit. Dabei fluchte er und verhöhnte den Herrn. Man brachte ihn zu Mose 12 und nahm ihn dann in Gewahrsam, um auf eine Weisung des Herrn zu warten.
13 Der Herr sprach zu Mose: 14 »Führe den Mann, der mich verhöhnt hat, aus dem Lager hinaus! Alle Zeugen, die sein Fluchen gehört haben, sollen ihm die Hand auf den Kopf legen. Dann müssen alle Versammelten ihn steinigen. 15 Sag den Israeliten: Jeder, der seinen Gott verflucht, muss die Folgen seiner Sünde tragen. 16 Wer den Namen des Herrn verhöhnt, muss mit dem Tod bestraft werden. Die ganze Gemeinschaft der Israeliten soll ihn steinigen, ganz gleich ob er ein Fremder oder ein Einheimischer ist!
17 Wer einen anderen Menschen umbringt, muss ebenfalls sterben. 18 Wer ein Stück Vieh tötet, muss es ersetzen. Es gilt der Grundsatz: Leben für Leben! 19 Wenn jemand seinem Mitmenschen Schaden zufügt und ihn verletzt, soll er dasselbe am eigenen Leib zu spüren bekommen. 20 Bei der Festlegung jeder Strafe sollt ihr euch nach dem Grundsatz richten: Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn, Knochenbruch um Knochenbruch. Was jemand einem anderen angetan hat, muss ihm selbst zugefügt werden. 21 Wer ein Stück Vieh tötet, soll es ersetzen. Wer einen Menschen umbringt, muss sterben. 22 Für die Einheimischen wie für die Fremden, die sich eurem Volk angeschlossen haben, soll das gleiche Recht gelten. Denn ich bin der Herr, euer Gott!«
23 Mose richtete den Israeliten diese Worte aus. Daraufhin führten sie den Mann, der den Herrn verhöhnt hatte, aus dem Lager hinaus und steinigten ihn. So befolgten sie die Weisung, die Mose vom Herrn bekommen hatte.

24 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
2 Gebiete den Kindern Israel, daß sie zu dir bringen gestoßenes lauteres Baumöl zur Leuchte, daß man täglich Lampen aufsetze
3 außen vor dem Vorhang des Zeugnisses in der Hütte des Stifts. Und Aaron soll's zurichten des Abends und des Morgens vor dem HERRN täglich. Das sei ein ewiges Recht euren Nachkommen.
4 Er soll die Lampen auf dem feinen Leuchter zurichten vor dem HERRN täglich.
5 Und sollst Semmelmehl nehmen und davon zwölf Kuchen backen; zwei Zehntel soll ein Kuchen haben.
6 Und sollst sie legen je sechs auf eine Schicht auf den feinen Tisch vor dem HERRN.
7 Und sollst auf dieselben legen reinen Weihrauch, daß er sei bei den Broten zum Gedächtnis, ein Feuer dem HERRN.
8 Alle Sabbate für und für soll er sie zurichten vor dem HERRN, von den Kindern Israel zum ewigen Bund.
9 Und sie sollen Aarons und seiner Söhne sein; die sollen sie essen an heiliger Stätte; denn das ist ein Hochheiliges von den Opfern des HERRN zum ewigen Recht.
10 Es ging aber aus eines israelitischen Weibes Sohn, der eines ägyptischen Mannes Kind war, unter den Kindern Israel und zankte sich im Lager mit einem israelitischen Mann
11 und lästerte den Namen des HERRN und fluchte. Da brachten sie ihn zu Mose (seine Mutter aber hieß Selomith, eine Tochter Dibris vom Stamme Dan)
12 und legten ihn gefangen, bis ihnen klare Antwort würde durch den Mund des HERRN.
13 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
14 Führe den Flucher hinaus vor das Lager und laß alle, die es gehört haben, ihre Hände auf sein Haupt legen und laß ihn die ganze Gemeinde steinigen.
15 Und sage den Kindern Israel: Welcher seinem Gott flucht, der soll seine Sünde tragen.
16 Welcher des HERRN Namen lästert, der soll des Todes sterben; die ganze Gemeinde soll ihn steinigen. Wie der Fremdling, so soll auch der Einheimische sein; wenn er den Namen lästert, so soll er sterben.
17 Wer irgend einen Menschen erschlägt, der soll des Todes sterben.
18 Wer aber ein Vieh erschlägt, der soll's bezahlen, Leib um Leib.
19 Und wer seinen Nächsten verletzt, dem soll man tun, wie er getan hat,
20 Schade um Schade, Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn; wie er hat einen Menschen verletzt, so soll man ihm wieder tun.
21 Also daß, wer ein Vieh erschlägt, der soll's bezahlen; wer aber einen Menschen erschlägt, der soll sterben.
22 Es soll einerlei Recht unter euch sein, dem Fremdling wie dem Einheimischen; denn ich bin der HERR, euer Gott.
23 Mose aber sagte es den Kindern Israel; und sie führten den Flucher hinaus vor das Lager und steinigten ihn. Also taten die Kinder Israel, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.

Olive Oil and Bread Set Before the Lord(A)
24 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually. 3 Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the Lord from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance(B) for the generations to come. 4 The lamps on the pure gold lampstand(C) before the Lord must be tended continually.
5 “Take the finest flour and bake twelve loaves of bread,(D) using two-tenths of an ephah[a](E) for each loaf. 6 Arrange them in two stacks, six in each stack, on the table of pure gold(F) before the Lord. 7 By each stack put some pure incense(G) as a memorial[b] portion(H) to represent the bread and to be a food offering presented to the Lord. 8 This bread is to be set out before the Lord regularly,(I) Sabbath after Sabbath,(J) on behalf of the Israelites, as a lasting covenant. 9 It belongs to Aaron and his sons,(K) who are to eat it in the sanctuary area,(L) because it is a most holy(M) part of their perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the Lord.”
A Blasphemer Put to Death
10 Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite. 11 The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name(N) with a curse;(O) so they brought him to Moses.(P) (His mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.)(Q) 12 They put him in custody until the will of the Lord should be made clear to them.(R)
13 Then the Lord said to Moses: 14 “Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him.(S) 15 Say to the Israelites: ‘Anyone who curses their God(T) will be held responsible;(U) 16 anyone who blasphemes(V) the name of the Lord is to be put to death.(W) The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.
17 “‘Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.(X) 18 Anyone who takes the life of someone’s animal must make restitution(Y)—life for life. 19 Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner: 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth.(Z) The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury. 21 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution,(AA) but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death.(AB) 22 You are to have the same law for the foreigner(AC) and the native-born.(AD) I am the Lord your God.’”
23 Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him.(AE) The Israelites did as the Lord commanded Moses.

The Lampstand and the Holy Bread
24 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Command the ·people [L sons; children] of Israel to bring you pure oil from crushed olives. That oil is for the lamps so that these lamps may never go out. 3 Aaron will keep the lamps burning in the Meeting Tent from evening until morning before the Lord; this is ·in front of [L outside] the curtain of the ·Ark of the Agreement [Covenant; Treaty; L Testimony]. This ·law [statute; ordinance; regulation] will continue ·from now on [L throughout your generations]. 4 Aaron must always keep the lamps burning on the ·lampstand of pure gold [L pure lampstand/Menorah; Ex. 25:31–40] before the Lord.
5 “Take ·fine [choice] flour and bake twelve loaves of bread with it, using ·four quarts [L two-tenths of an ephah] of flour for each loaf. 6 Put them in two rows on the ·golden [L pure] table [Ex. 25:23–30] before the Lord, six loaves in each row. 7 Put pure incense on each row as the memorial portion to take the place of the bread. It is an offering made by fire to the Lord. 8 Every Sabbath day Aaron will put the bread in order before the Lord, as an ·agreement [covenant; treaty] with the people of Israel that will continue forever. 9 That bread will belong to Aaron and his sons. They will eat it in a holy place, because it is a most holy part of the offerings made by fire to the Lord. That bread is their share forever.”
The Man Who Cursed God
10 Now there was a son of an Israelite woman and an Egyptian father who ·was walking [L came out] among the Israelites. A fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite. 11 The son of the Israelite woman began cursing and ·speaking against the Lord [L blaspheming the name], so the people took him to Moses. (The mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri from the family of Dan.) 12 The people ·held him as a prisoner [put him in custody] while they waited for the Lord’s ·command [decision; will] to be made clear to them.
13 Then the Lord said to Moses, 14 “Take the one who ·spoke against [L cursed; blasphemed] me outside the camp. Then all the people who heard him must put their hands on his head, and all the ·people [community; assembly; congregation] must ·throw stones at him and kill [stone] him. 15 Tell the ·people [L sons; children] of Israel this: ‘If anyone curses his God, he is guilty of sin [Ex. 20:7; Deut. 5:11]. 16 Anyone who ·speaks against [L curses/blasphemes the name of] the Lord must be put to death; all the ·people [community; assembly; congregation] must ·kill him by throwing stones at [stone] him. ·Foreigners [Sojourners; Wanderers; Resident aliens] must be punished just like ·the people born in Israel [natives]; if they ·speak against the Lord [L curse/blaspheme the name], they must be put to death.
17 “‘Whoever ·kills [L strikes] another person must be put to death. 18 Whoever ·kills [L strikes] an animal that belongs to another person must give that person another animal to take its place. 19 And whoever causes an injury to a ·neighbor [countryman] must receive the same kind of injury in return: 20 Broken bone for broken bone, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. Anyone who injures another person must be injured in the same way in return [Ex. 21:24]. 21 Whoever ·kills [L strikes] another person’s animal must give that person another animal to take its place. But whoever ·kills [strikes] another person must be put to death.
22 “‘The ·law [regulation; standard] will be the same for the ·foreigner [sojouner; wanderer; resident alien] as for ·those from your own country [the native]. I am the Lord your God.’”
23 Then Moses spoke to the ·people [L sons; children] of Israel, and they took the person who had cursed outside the camp and ·killed him by throwing stones at [stoned] him. So the ·people [L sons; children] of Israel did as the Lord had commanded Moses.
