Remember that Jesus Christ, (A)of the seed of David, (B)was raised from the dead (C)according to my gospel, (D)for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, (E)even to the point of chains; (F)but the word of God is not chained. 10 Therefore (G)I endure all things for the sake of the [a]elect, (H)that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

11 This is a faithful saying:

For (I)if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him.
12 (J)If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
(K)If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He (L)cannot deny Himself.

A Trustworthy Saying

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David according to my gospel, in connection with which I suffer misfortune to the point of imprisonment[a] as a criminal, but the word of God is not bound. 10 Because of this, I endure all things for the sake of the chosen, in order that they also may obtain salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 The saying is trustworthy:

For if we died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him;
if we deny him, he also will deny us;
13 if we are unfaithful, he remains faithful—he cannot deny himself[b].[c]
