2 Timothy 1:8-12

⁸Therefore ^(A)do not be ashamed of ^(B)the testimony about our Lord, nor of ^(C)me his prisoner, but ^(D)share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, ⁹^(E)who saved us and ^(F)called us to^[a] a holy calling, ^(G)not because of our works but because of ^(H)his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus ^(I)before the ages began,^[b] ¹⁰and which now has ^(J)been manifested through ^(K)the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, ^(L)who abolished death and ^(M)brought life and ^(N)immortality to light through the gospel, ¹¹^(O)for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, ¹²^(P)which is why I suffer as I do. But ^(Q)I am not ashamed, for ^(R)I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until ^(S)that day ^(T)what has been entrusted to me.^[c]

⁸Therefore, never be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me, his prisoner. Instead, by God’s power, join me in suffering for the sake of the gospel.

⁹He saved us
    and called us with a holy calling,
not according to our own accomplishments,
    but according to his own purpose and the grace
that was given to us in the Messiah^[a] Jesus
    before time began.^[b]
¹⁰Now, however, that grace^[c] has been revealed
    through the coming of our Savior the Messiah^[d] Jesus,
who has destroyed death
    and through the gospel has brought life
        and release from death into full view.

¹¹For the sake of this gospel^[e] I was appointed to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the gentiles.^[f] ¹²That is why I suffer as I do. However, I am not ashamed, for I know the one in whom I have put my trust, and I’m convinced that he is able to protect what he has entrusted to me^[g] until the day that he comes.^[h]
