GOD’S WORD Translation
23 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments. You know they cause quarrels. 24 A servant of the Lord must not quarrel. Instead, he must be kind to everyone. He must be a good teacher. He must be willing to suffer wrong. 25 He must be gentle in correcting those who oppose the Good News. Maybe God will allow them to change the way they think and act and lead them to know the truth. 26 Then they might come back to their senses and God will free them from the devil’s snare so that they can do his will.

23 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.(A) 24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.(B) 25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,(C) 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil,(D) who has taken them captive to do his will.
