¹⁷Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus^(A) and Philetus,

¹⁷And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

¹⁸who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place,^(A) and they destroy the faith of some.^(B)

¹⁸Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

¹⁵But since it involves questions about words and names and your own law^(A)—settle the matter yourselves. I will not be a judge of such things.”

¹⁵But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.
