³Смотрите, чтобы вас никто не ввел в заблуждение никаким образом: День этот не придет до тех пор, пока не произойдет отступление от Бога и не откроется человек беззакония, осужденный на погибель. ⁴Он будет противостоять всему, что называют божеством или святыней, и превозноситься над этим. Он даже займет место в храме Божьем^[a] и будет выдавать себя за Бога^[b].

³Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

⁴Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

For that day will not come, ^(B)unless the rebellion comes first, and ^(C)the man of lawlessness^[a] is revealed, ^(D)the son of destruction,^[b] ⁴who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, ^(E)proclaiming himself to be God.
