7 They had entered[a] the house while Ish Bosheth[b] was resting on his bed in his bedroom. They mortally wounded him[c] and then cut off his head.[d] Taking his head,[e] they traveled on the way of the rift valley[f] all that night.

7 They had gone into the house while he was lying on the bed in his bedroom. After they stabbed and killed him, they cut off his head. Taking it with them, they traveled all night by way of the Arabah.(A)
