Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith (A)supply (B)moral [a]excellence, and in your moral excellence, (C)knowledge, and in your knowledge, (D)self-control, and in your self-control, (E)perseverance, and in your perseverance, (F)godliness, and in your godliness, [b](G)brotherly kindness, and in your [c]brotherly kindness, [d]love. For if these things are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor (H)unfruitful in the (I)full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For in whom these things are not present, that one is (J)blind, being nearsighted, having [e]forgotten the (K)purification from his former sins.

To patient endurance, add godliness. To godliness, add brotherly affection. And to brotherly affection, add love. For if you have these qualities and they are increasing, they are going to keep you from being idle or unfruitful in regard to your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Indeed, the person who lacks these qualities is shortsighted and, in fact, blind, because he has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
