Eyewitnesses of Jesus
16 For we did not make known to you the (A)power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, following cleverly devised (B)myths, but being (C)eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an [a](D)utterance as this was [b]made to Him by the (E)Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased”— 18 and we ourselves heard this [c]utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the (F)holy mountain.

Christ’s return is true
16 We didn’t repeat crafty myths when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Quite the contrary, we witnessed his majesty with our own eyes. 17 He received honor and glory from God the Father when a voice came to him from the magnificent glory, saying, “This is my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.” 18 We ourselves heard this voice from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain.
