Elisha Gives Life to a Boy

One day Elisha traveled to Shunem, where a prominent[a] woman lived. She insisted that he stop for a meal.[b] So whenever he was passing through, he would stop in there for a meal.[c] She said to her husband, “Look, I’m sure[d] that the man who regularly passes through here is a very special prophet.[e] 10 Let’s make a small, private upper room[f] and furnish it with[g] a bed, table, chair, and lamp. When he visits us, he can stay there.”

Now there came a day when Elisha passed over to (A)Shunem, where there was a [a]prominent woman, and she prevailed upon him to eat [b]food. Now it happened, as often as he passed by, that he turned in there to eat [c]food. And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know that this is a holy (B)man of God passing by us continually. 10 Please, let us (C)make a little walled upper chamber and let us set a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand; and it will be, when he comes to us, that he can turn in there.”
