The Shunammite Woman Will Bear a Son
8 Now there came a day when Elisha passed over to (A)Shunem, where there was a [a]prominent woman, and she prevailed upon him to eat [b]food. Now it happened, as often as he passed by, that he turned in there to eat [c]food. 9 And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know that this is a holy (B)man of God passing by us continually. 10 Please, let us (C)make a little walled upper chamber and let us set a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand; and it will be, when he comes to us, that he can turn in there.”

8 One day Elisha went to Shunem.(A) A prominent woman who lived there persuaded him to eat some food. So whenever he passed by, he stopped there to eat.(B) 9 Then she said to her husband, “I know that the one who often passes by here is a holy man of God, 10 so let’s make a small room upstairs and put a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp there for him.
