Jehoiachin Released from Prison

27 (A)And in the thirty-seventh year of (B)the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, graciously (C)freed[a] Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison. 28 And he spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat above the seats of the kings who were with him in Babylon. 29 So Jehoiachin put off his prison garments. And every day of his life (D)he dined regularly at the king's table, 30 and for his allowance, a regular allowance was given him by the king, according to his daily needs, as long as he lived.

Jehoiachin Leaves Prison

27 Later on, after King Jehoiachin of Judah had been in exile for 37 years, on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month, during the first year of his reign, King Evil-merodach of Babylon released King Jehoiachin of Judah from prison. 28 He spoke kindly to him and elevated his position[a] above the thrones of the kings with him in Babylon. 29 Jehoiachin changed out of his prison clothes and had regular meals in the king’s presence every day for the rest of his life, 30 and a regular stipend was provided to him by the king in accordance with his needs for as long as he lived.
