Jehoahaz Reigns Over Judah
28 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? 29 (A)In his days (B)Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt went up to the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates. And King Josiah went to meet him, and when Pharaoh Neco saw him he put him to death at (C)Megiddo. 30 (D)And his servants drove [a]his body in a chariot from Megiddo and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his own tomb. (E)Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in place of his father.

Josiah’s Death
28 The rest of the events of Josiah’s reign,(A) along with all his accomplishments, are written in the Historical Record of Judah’s Kings. 29 During his reign, Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt(B) marched up to help the king of Assyria at the Euphrates River. King Josiah went to confront him, and at Megiddo(C) when Neco saw him he killed him. 30 From Megiddo his servants carried his dead body in a chariot, brought him into Jerusalem, and buried him in his own tomb.(D) Then the common people[a] took Jehoahaz son of Josiah, anointed him, and made him king in place of his father.(E)
