Judah’s King Joash

21 [a]Joash[b](A) was seven years old when he became king.(B) 12 In the seventh year of Jehu, Joash became king and reigned 40 years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah, who was from Beer-sheba.(C) Throughout the time Jehoiada(D) the priest instructed(E) him, Joash did what was right in the Lord’s sight.(F) Yet the high places were not taken away; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense on the high places.(G)

Jehoash/Joash Reigns in Judah

12 In the seventh year of Jehu, Jehoash became king. He reigned in Jerusalem forty years, and the name of his mother was Zibiah from Beersheba. Jehoash did right in the eyes of Yahweh all of his days, because Jehoiada the priest instructed him. Only the high places were not removed; the people were still making sacrifices and offering incense on the high places.
