Joash Repairs the Temple(A)

12 [c]In the seventh year of Jehu, Joash[d](B) became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba. Joash did what was right(C) in the eyes of the Lord all the years Jehoiada the priest instructed him. The high places,(D) however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.

21 Joash[a](A) was seven years old when he became king.(B)

12 In the seventh year of Jehu, Joash became king, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beer-sheba.(C) Throughout the time the priest Jehoiada(D) instructed(E) him, Joash did what was right in the Lord’s sight.(F) Yet the high places were not taken away; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense on the high places.(G)
