2 Corinthians 8:10-15
New English Translation

10 So here is my opinion on this matter: It is to your advantage, since you[a] made a good start last year both in your giving and your desire to give, 11 to finish what you started,[b] so that just as you wanted to do it eagerly,[c] you can also complete it according to your means.[d] 12 For if the eagerness is present, the gift itself[e] is acceptable according to whatever one has, not according to what he does not have. 13 For I do not say this so there would be relief for others and suffering for you, but as a matter of equality. 14 At the present time, your abundance will meet their need,[f] so that one day their abundance may also meet your need, and thus there may be equality, 15 as it is written: “The one who gathered[g] much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”[h]

10 And I (A)give my opinion in this matter, for this is profitable for you, who were the first to begin (B)a year ago not only to do this, but also to desire to do it. 11 But now complete [a]doing it also, so that just as there was the (C)readiness to desire it, so there may be also the completion of it from what you have. 12 For if the readiness is present, it is acceptable (D)according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. 13 For this is not for the relief of others and for your affliction, but by way of equality— 14 at this present time your abundance being a supply for (E)their need, so that their abundance also may become a supply for (F)your need, that there may be equality. 15 As it is written, “(G)He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little had no lack.”
