5 For we know that if the earthly house of our [a]tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. 2 For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven: 3 if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4 For indeed we that are in this [b]tabernacle do groan, [c]being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

5 Sabemos, además, que aunque se desmorone esta tienda corporal que nos sirve de morada terrestre, Dios nos tiene preparada en el cielo una morada eterna, no construida por manos humanas. 2 Y suspiramos anhelando ser sobrevestidos de esa nuestra morada celestial, 3 dando por supuesto que seremos revestidos y no despojados de ella. 4 En verdad, a los que vivimos en esta morada corporal nos abruma la aflicción, pues no queremos quedar desnudos, sino ser sobrevestidos de modo que lo mortal sea absorbido por la vida. 5 A eso precisamente nos ha destinado Dios, y como garantía nos ha dado el Espíritu.

5 For we know that if the earthly(A) tent(B) we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan,(C) longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,(D) 3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan(E) and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,(F) so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.(G)
