2 Corinthians 1:8-11

8 For (A)we do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of our (B)affliction which came to us in [a](C)Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even to live. 9 [b]Indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not have confidence in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; 10 who (D)rescued us from so great a peril of death, and will rescue us, [c]He (E)on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet rescue us, 11 you also joining in (F)helping us through your prayers on our behalf, so that thanks may be given on our behalf by (G)many persons for the gracious gift bestowed on us through the prayers of many.

8 For we don’t want you to be unaware, brothers, of our affliction that took place in Asia:(A) we were completely overwhelmed—beyond our strength(B)—so that we even despaired(C) of life. 9 Indeed, we personally had a death sentence within ourselves, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God(D) who raises(E) the dead. 10 He has delivered(F) us from such a terrible death,(G) and He will deliver us. We have put our hope in Him that He will deliver us again 11 while you join in helping us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our[a] behalf for the gift that came to us through the prayers of many.
