2 Corinthians 1:8-11
English Standard Version
8 For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers,[a] of (A)the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us (B)rely not on ourselves (C)but on God (D)who raises the dead. 10 (E)He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. (F)On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again. 11 (G)You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf (H)for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.

2 Corinthians 1:8-11
International Standard Version
How God Rescued Paul
8 For we do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, about the suffering we experienced in Asia. We were so crushed beyond our ability to endure that we even despaired of living. 9 In fact, we felt that we had received a death sentence so we would not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has rescued us from a terrible death, and he will continue to rescue us. Yes, he is the one on whom we have set our hope, and he will rescue us again, 11 as you also help us by your prayers for us. Then many people will thank God[a] on our behalf because of the favor shown us through the prayers of many.
