The Joy of Titus

13 Therefore we have been comforted in your comfort. And we rejoiced exceedingly more for the joy of Titus, because his spirit (A)has been refreshed by you all. 14 For if in anything I have boasted to him about you, I am not ashamed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting to Titus was found true. 15 And his affections are greater for you as he remembers (B)the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you received him. 16 Therefore I rejoice that (C)I have confidence in you in everything.

13 Therefore we have been comforted: and in our comfort we joyed the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit hath been refreshed by you all. 14 For if in anything I have gloried to him on your behalf, I was not put to shame; but as we spake all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth. 15 And his affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him. 16 I rejoice that in everything I am of good courage concerning you.

13 By all this we are encouraged.

In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus(A) was, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you. 14 I had boasted to him about you,(B) and you have not embarrassed me. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting about you to Titus(C) has proved to be true as well. 15 And his affection for you is all the greater when he remembers that you were all obedient,(D) receiving him with fear and trembling.(E) 16 I am glad I can have complete confidence in you.(F)
