27 Now Hezekiah had immense riches and honor; and he made for himself treasuries for silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields, and all kinds of valuable articles, 28 also storehouses for the produce of grain, wine, and oil; stalls for all kinds of cattle, and [a]sheepfolds for the flocks. 29 He made cities for himself and acquired flocks and herds in abundance, because (A)God had given him very great [b]wealth. 30 It was Hezekiah who (B)stopped the upper outlet of the waters of (C)Gihon and directed them to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah was successful in everything that he did. 31 Even in the matter of (D)the messengers of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about (E)the wonder that had happened in the land; God left him alone only (F)to test him, so that He might know everything that was in his heart.

Hezekiah’s Wealth and Works

27 Hezekiah had abundant riches and glory, and he made himself treasuries for silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields, and every desirable item. 28 He made warehouses for the harvest of grain, new wine, and oil, and stalls for all kinds of cattle, and pens for flocks. 29 He made cities for himself, and he acquired herds of sheep and cattle in abundance, for God gave him abundant possessions.

30 This same Hezekiah blocked the outlet of the water of the Upper Gihon(A) and channeled it smoothly downward and westward to the city of David.(B) Hezekiah succeeded in everything he did. 31 When the ambassadors of Babylon’s rulers(C) were sent[a] to him to inquire about the miraculous sign(D) that happened in the land, God left him to test him and discover what was in his heart.(E)
