Ang Pagsakit ni Hezekia

(2 Hari 20:1-11; Isa. 38:1-8)

24 Unya nagsakit ug grabe si Hezekia ug daw mamatay na siya. Nagaampo siya sa Ginoo, ug gitubag siya sa Ginoo pinaagi sa usa ka ilhanan. 25 Apan nahimong mapasigarbohon si Hezekia ug wala niya hatagig bili ang kaayo nga gipakita sa Ginoo kaniya. Busa nasuko ang Ginoo kaniya ug sa mga katawhan sa Jerusalem ug sa ubang bahin sa Juda. 26 Apan naghinulsol si Hezekia ug nagpaubos, ingon man ang katawhan sa Jerusalem. Busa wala ipatagamtam sa Ginoo ang iyang kasuko kanila samtang buhi pa si Hezekia.

Hezekiah’s Pride, Success and Death(A)

24 In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. He prayed to the Lord, who answered him and gave him a miraculous sign.(B) 25 But Hezekiah’s heart was proud(C) and he did not respond to the kindness shown him; therefore the Lord’s wrath(D) was on him and on Judah and Jerusalem. 26 Then Hezekiah repented(E) of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the Lord’s wrath did not come on them during the days of Hezekiah.(F)

24 In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death, and prayed unto the Lord: and he spake unto him, and he gave him a sign.

25 But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

26 Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.
