Drottning Atalja regerar i Juda

(2 Kung 11:1-3)

¹⁰När Atalja, Achasjas mor, såg att hennes son var död, bestämde hon sig för att förgöra hela kungahuset i Juda. ¹¹Men kungens dotter Joshavat lyckades ta och gömma undan Joash, Achasjas son, just när kungasönerna skulle dödas. Hon gömde honom och hans sköterska i ett sovrum. Där höll Joshavat, dotter till kung Joram och hustru till prästen Jojada och syster till Achasja, honom gömd så att Atalja inte kunde döda honom. ¹²Joash hölls gömd av dem i Guds hus i sex år medan Atalja regerade i landet.

¹⁰But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.

¹¹But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.

¹²And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land.

¹⁰^(B)Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal heirs of the house of Judah. ¹¹But ^[a]Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took ^(C)Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were being murdered, and put him and his nurse in a bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from Athaliah so that she did not kill him. ¹²And he was hidden with them in the house of God for six years, while Athaliah reigned over the land.
