Nowe Przymierze
4 Zobowiązuję cię zatem wobec Boga oraz Chrystusa Jezusa, który będzie sądził żywych i umarłych, w obliczu Jego przyjścia i na Jego Królestwo: 2 Głoś Słowo! Bądź gotowy w porę i nie w porę, aby poprawić, upomnieć, zachęcić — z całą cierpliwością, umiejętnie.
3 Gdyż przyjdzie czas, że przestaną tolerować zdrową naukę, a skłonni do słuchania tego, co odpowiada ich upodobaniom,[a] otoczą się nauczycielami przyklaskującymi ich własnym żądzom. 4 Czyniąc to, odwrócą się od słuchania prawdy i zwrócą ku baśniom.
5 Ty jednak zachowaj trzeźwość we wszystkim, znoś niedole, wykonuj pracę ewangelisty, rzetelnie pełnij swoją służbę.
6 Ja bowiem jestem już złożony na ofiarę. Wybiła godzina mojego odejścia. 7 Toczyłem piękny bój. Bieg ukończyłem. Wiarę — zachowałem. 8 Teraz czeka na mnie wieniec sprawiedliwości, który w tym Dniu da mi Pan, sędzia sprawiedliwy, a nie tylko mnie, da go wszystkim, którzy z utęsknieniem oczekują Jego przyjścia.
Polecenia i rady
9 Postaraj się przyjść do mnie jak najszybciej, 10 gdyż Demas mnie opuścił. Pociągnął go ten świat[b] i odszedł do Tesalonik. Krescens udał się do Galacji, a Tytus do Dalmacji. 11 Jest ze mną tylko Łukasz. Zabierz z sobą Marka; jest mi bardzo potrzebny do posługiwania. 12 Tychikosa posłałem do Efezu. 13 Po drodze wstąp do Karposa i przynieś mi płaszcz, który zostawiłem u niego w Troadzie. Przynieś też zwoje, zwłaszcza pergaminy.
14 Aleksander, brązownik, wyrządził mi wiele złego. Pan mu odpłaci stosownie do jego czynów. 15 Strzeż się go i ty. Bardzo ostro wystąpił on przeciwko naszym słowom.
16 W mojej pierwszej mowie obrończej nikogo przy mnie nie było. Wszyscy mnie opuścili. Niech im to nie będzie zaliczone na szkodę. 17 Ale Pan stał przy mnie. On mnie wzmocnił, tak, aby przeze mnie dopełniło się dzieło głoszenia dobrej nowiny i usłyszały ją wszystkie narody — i zostałem wyrwany z lwiej paszczy. 18 Tak, Pan mnie ochroni przed wszystkimi wrogimi zakusami i zbawi dla swego Królestwa w niebie. Jemu niech będzie chwała — na zawsze. Amen.
Pozdrowienia
19 Pozdrów Pryskę i Akwilę oraz dom Onezyforosa. 20 Erastos pozostał w Koryncie, a chorego Trofimosa zostawiłem w Milecie.
21 Postaraj się przyjść przed zimą. Pozdrawiają cię Eubulos, Pudens, Linos, Klaudia i wszyscy bracia.
22 Niech Pan będzie z tobą w głębi ducha. I niech łaska towarzyszy waszym poczynaniom.

Preach the Word
4 I (A)charge you [a]therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, (B)who will judge the living and the dead [b]at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. (C)Convince, (D)rebuke, (E)exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 (F)For the time will come when they will not endure (G)sound doctrine, (H)but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and (I)be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, (J)endure afflictions, do the work of (K)an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Paul’s Valedictory
6 For (L)I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of (M)my departure is at hand. 7 (N)I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me (O)the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous (P)Judge, will give to me (Q)on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
The Abandoned Apostle
9 Be diligent to come to me quickly; 10 for (R)Demas has forsaken me, (S)having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. Get (T)Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry. 12 And (U)Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. 13 Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.
14 (V)Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. 15 You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words.
16 At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. (W)May it not be charged against them.
The Lord Is Faithful
17 (X)But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, (Y)so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered (Z)out of the mouth of the lion. 18 (AA)And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. (AB)To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
Come Before Winter
19 Greet (AC)Prisca and Aquila, and the household of (AD)Onesiphorus. 20 (AE)Erastus stayed in Corinth, but (AF)Trophimus I have left in Miletus sick.
21 Do your utmost to come before winter.
Eubulus greets you, as well as Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brethren.
Farewell
22 The Lord [c]Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
