4 Вот почему, имея по милости Божьей это служение, мы не отчаиваемся. 2 Мы отвергаем любые нечестные методы, за которые бывает стыдно, мы никого не обманываем и не искажаем слово Божье. Напротив, мы открыто возвещаем истину, и пусть каждый человек судит нас в своей совести перед Богом. 3 Если для кого-то Радостная Весть, которую мы возвещаем, и закрыта, то только для тех, кто идет к погибели, 4 для неверующих, у которых бог[a] этого мира ослепил умы, чтобы им не видеть света Радостной Вести о славе Христа, Который есть образ Бога. 5 Ведь мы возвещаем не самих себя, а Христа Иисуса как Господа, мы же – ваши слуги ради Иисуса. 6 Потому что Бог, сказавший: «Пусть из тьмы воссияет свет»[b], и Сам есть тот Свет, Который светит в наших сердцах, давая нам знание славы Божьей, которая видна на лице Иисуса Христа.
7 Но это сокровище мы носим в глиняных сосудах[c] и показываем, что эта выдающаяся сила исходит не от нас, а от Бога. 8 Нас теснят со всех сторон, но мы не стеснены; мы в отчаянных обстоятельствах, но не в отчаянии; 9 нас преследуют, но мы не покинуты; мы сильно побиты, но не убиты. 10 В нашем теле мы всегда носим смерть Иисуса, чтобы в нас была явлена и Его жизнь. 11 Мы, живые, все время предаемся смерти за Иисуса, чтобы и жизнь Иисуса была явлена в наших смертных телах. 12 Смерть совершает свою работу в нас ради того, чтобы в вас совершила свою работу жизнь!
13 А поскольку мы обладаем тем же духом веры – как написано: «Я верил, поэтому я и говорил»[d], – мы тоже верим и поэтому говорим. 14 Мы знаем, что Тот, Кто воскресил Господа Иисуса, воскресит с Иисусом и нас и поставит перед Собой рядом с вами. 15 Все это к вашему благу, чтобы благодать, достигающая все большего и большего числа людей, усиливала благодарность, возносимую во славу Бога.

Напротив, мы открыто возвещаем истину, и пусть каждый человек судит нас в своей совести перед Всевышним. 3 Если для кого-то Радостная Весть, которую мы возвещаем, и закрыта, то только для тех, кто идёт к погибели, 4 для неверующих, у которых бог этого мира (сатана) ослепил умы, чтобы им не видеть света Радостной Вести о славе Масиха, Который в Самом Себе открывает нам Всевышнего[a]. 5 Ведь мы возвещаем не самих себя, а Ису Масиха как Повелителя, мы же – ваши рабы ради Исы. 6 Потому что Всевышний, сказавший: «Пусть из тьмы воссияет свет»[b], – и Сам есть тот свет, который светит в наших сердцах, давая нам знание славы Всевышнего, которая видна на лице Исы Масиха.
7 Но это сокровище мы носим в глиняных сосудах – наших телах – и показываем, что эта выдающаяся сила исходит не от нас, а от Всевышнего. 8 Нас теснят со всех сторон, но мы не стеснены; мы в отчаянных обстоятельствах, но не в отчаянии; 9 нас преследуют, но мы не покинуты; мы сильно побиты, но не убиты. 10 Будучи постоянно гонимы, мы как бы носим смерть Исы в своём теле, чтобы в нас была явлена и Его жизнь. 11 Мы, живые, всё время предаёмся смерти за Ису, чтобы и жизнь Исы была явлена в наших смертных телах. 12 Смерть совершает свою работу в нас ради того, чтобы в вас совершила свою работу жизнь!

4 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same Spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Present Weakness and Resurrection Life
4 Therefore, since through God’s mercy(A) we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.(B) 2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways;(C) we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God.(D) On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience(E) in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel(F) is veiled,(G) it is veiled to those who are perishing.(H) 4 The god(I) of this age(J) has blinded(K) the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ,(L) who is the image of God.(M) 5 For what we preach is not ourselves,(N) but Jesus Christ as Lord,(O) and ourselves as your servants(P) for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[a](Q) made his light shine in our hearts(R) to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.(S)
7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay(T) to show that this all-surpassing power is from God(U) and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side,(V) but not crushed; perplexed,(W) but not in despair; 9 persecuted,(X) but not abandoned;(Y) struck down, but not destroyed.(Z) 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus,(AA) so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.(AB) 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake,(AC) so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.(AD)
13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”[b](AE) Since we have that same spirit of[c] faith,(AF) we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead(AG) will also raise us with Jesus(AH) and present us with you to himself.(AI) 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving(AJ) to overflow to the glory of God.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart.(AK) Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly(AL) we are being renewed(AM) day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.(AN) 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen,(AO) since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
