^16 (A)Joab the son of Zeruiah was commander over the army, and ^(B)Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was ^(C)secretary.

¹⁸ Now ^(A)Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was ^(B)chief of the ^[a]thirty. And he swung his spear against three hundred ^[b]and killed them, and had a name ^[c]as well as the three.
