⁵ We are destroying speculations and every ^(A)lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the ^(B)obedience of Christ,

^5 [a](A)Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward ^(B)outsiders, ^[b](C)making the most of the opportunity. ^6 (D)Let your speech always be ^[c]with grace, as though seasoned with ^(E)salt, so that you will know how you should ^(F)respond to each person.

^11 (A)Do not participate in the unfruitful ^(B)deeds of ^(C)darkness, but instead even ^[a](D)expose them;

^9 (A)holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in ^(B)sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

¹⁵ but ^[a]sanctify ^(A)Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready ^(B)to make a ^[b]defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the ^(C)hope that is in you, yet ^(D)with gentleness and ^[c](E)reverence;
