Be Strong in Grace
2 You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace(A) that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And what you have heard from me(B) in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful(C) men who will be able to teach others also.
3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.(D) 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in the concerns of civilian life; he seeks to please the recruiter. 5 Also, if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer ought to be the first to get a share of the crops.(E) 7 Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.
8 Keep your attention on Jesus Christ as risen from the dead(F) and descended from David. This is according to my gospel. 9 I suffer for it to the point of being bound like a criminal, but God’s message is not bound. 10 This is why I endure(G) all things for the elect:(H) so that they also may obtain salvation, which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.(I) 11 This saying is trustworthy:(J)
For if we have died with Him,(K)
we will also live with Him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign(L) with Him;
if we deny Him, He will also deny us;
13 if we are faithless, He remains faithful,
for He cannot deny Himself.
An Approved Worker
14 Remind them of these things, charging them before God[a] not to fight about words;(M) this is in no way profitable and leads to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.(N) 16 But avoid irreverent, empty speech, for this will produce an even greater measure of godlessness.(O) 17 And their word will spread like gangrene; Hymenaeus(P) and Philetus are among them. 18 They have deviated from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already taken place,(Q) and are overturning the faith of some.(R) 19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, having this inscription:(S)
The Lord knows those who are His,(T)[b] and
Everyone who names the name(U) of the Lord
must turn away from unrighteousness.(V)
20 Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver bowls,(W) but also those of wood and clay, some for honorable[c] use, some for dishonorable.[d](X) 21 So if anyone purifies himself from anything dishonorable,[e] he will be a special[f] instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.(Y)
22 Flee(Z) from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace,(AA) along with those who call on the Lord(AB) from a pure heart. 23 But reject foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they breed quarrels. 24 The Lord’s(AC) slave must not quarrel,(AD) but must be gentle to everyone, able to teach,[g] and patient, 25 instructing his opponents with gentleness.(AE) Perhaps God will grant them repentance(AF) leading them to the knowledge of the truth. 26 Then they may come to their senses and escape the Devil’s trap,(AG) having been captured by him to do his will.(AH)

2 所以，我儿啊，你应当在基督耶稣的恩典里刚强起来， 2 又应当把你在许多见证人面前从我这里听见的，交托给那些又忠心又能够教导别人的人。 3 你应当和我同受磨难，好象基督耶稣的精兵。 4 当兵的人不让世务缠身，为要使那招兵的人欢喜。 5 竞赛的人若不遵守规则，就不能得冠冕。 6 劳力的农夫理当先尝果实。 7 你要想想我的话，因为凡事主必给你领悟力。
8 你要记得那从死人中复活的耶稣基督，他是大卫的后裔所生的，这就是我所传的福音。 9 我为了这福音受了磨难，甚至像犯人一样被捆绑起来；可是， 神的话却不被捆绑。 10 因此，我为了选民忍受一切，好叫他们也可以得着在基督耶稣里的救恩，和永远的荣耀。
11 “我们若与基督同死，就必与他同活；
12 我们若能坚忍，就必与他一同作王；
我们若不认他，他必不认我们；
13 我们纵然不信，他仍然是信实的，
因为他不能否定自己。”

作无愧的工人
14 你要在 神面前把这些事提醒众人，叮嘱他们不要作无益的争辩；这只能败坏听见的人。 15 你应当竭力在 神面前作一个蒙称许、无愧的工人，正确地讲解真理的道。 16 总要远避世俗的空谈，因为这些必会引人进到更不敬虔的地步。 17 他们的话好象毒瘤一样蔓延；他们当中有许米乃和腓理徒。 18 他们偏离了真道，说复活的事已经过去了，于是毁坏了一些人的信心。 19 然而， 神坚固的根基已经立定，上面刻着这样的印：“主认识属于他的人”和“凡称呼主名的人都应当离开不义”。 20 在富贵人的家里（“富贵人的家里”原文作“大房子”），不但有金器、银器，也有木器、瓦器；有贵重的，也有卑贱的。 21 人若自洁，离开卑贱的事，就必作贵重的器皿，成为圣洁，合主使用，预备行各样的善事。 22 你应当逃避年轻人的私欲，要和那些以清洁的心求告主的人，一同追求公义、信心、爱心、和平。 23 你要拒绝愚蠢无知的问难；你知道这些事会引起争论。 24 但主的仆人却不可争论，总要待人温和，善于教导，存心忍耐， 25 以温柔劝导那些对抗的人，或许 神给他们悔改的心，可以认识真理。 26 他们虽然曾经被魔鬼掳去，随从他的意思而行，或许也能醒悟过来，脱离魔鬼的陷阱。

2 我兒啊！你要靠著基督耶穌的恩典剛強起來。 2 以前你在許多見證人面前聽過我的教導，你要把這些教導傳給忠信可靠、能夠教導他人的人。
3 你要作基督耶穌的精兵與我同受苦難。 4 當兵的若讓其他事務纏身，就不能取悅徵召他的上司。 5 同樣，參加比賽的人若不遵守比賽規則，就不可能得獎。 6 辛勞的農夫理當先享受收成。 7 你要思想我說的話，因為主必賜你悟性明白各樣的事。
8 你要切記我所傳的福音：耶穌基督是大衛的後裔，祂從死裡復活了。 9 我為這福音受苦，甚至像犯人一樣被囚禁，但上帝的道是囚禁不住的。 10 我為了上帝所揀選的人忍受一切痛苦，使他們可以獲得在基督耶穌裡的救恩和永遠的榮耀。 11 有真實可信的話說：
「我們若與基督同死，

12 我們若忍耐到底，
就必與祂一同作王。
我們若不承認祂，

做無愧的工人
14 你要提醒眾人這些事，在主面前囑咐他們：不要為言詞爭辯，因為那對聽見的人有害無益。 15 你應當竭力在上帝面前做經得起考驗、問心無愧的工人，正確地闡釋真理之道。 16 要遠避一切世俗的空談，因為好空談的人只會越來越不敬虔。 17 他們講的話像毒瘡，只會越爛越大，許米乃和腓理徒就是例子。 18 他們離經背道，說復活的事已成過去，動搖了許多人的信心。 19 然而，上帝所立的堅實根基永不動搖，這根基上刻著：「主認識誰是屬於祂的人」，「凡自稱是屬於主的人都要離棄罪惡。」
20 大戶人家不但有金器銀器，也有木器瓦器，這些器皿的用途有貴賤之分。 21 人若潔身自愛，遠離卑賤的事，就必成為聖潔無瑕的貴重器皿，可以被主用來成就各樣的善事。
22 你要逃避年輕人的邪情私慾，要跟那些以清潔的心求告主的人一同追求公義、信心、仁愛、和平。 23 不要參與愚昧無知的辯論，因為這些事只會引起紛爭。 24 上帝的奴僕不可與人爭執，總要溫和待人，善於教導，心存忍耐。 25 要溫柔地規勸那些反對我們的人，也許上帝會賜給他們悔改的心，使他們明白真理， 26 讓他們這些被魔鬼擄去、受其擺佈的人能夠醒悟過來，脫離魔鬼的網羅。
