2 Timothy 1:2-7
New American Standard Bible 1995
2 To (A)Timothy, my beloved [a](B)son: (C)Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 (D)I thank God, whom I (E)serve with a (F)clear conscience [b]the way my forefathers did, (G)as I constantly remember you in my [c]prayers night and day, 4 (H)longing to see you, (I)even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy. 5 [d]For I am mindful of the (J)sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and (K)your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well. 6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh (L)the gift of God which is in you through (M)the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a (N)spirit of [e]timidity, but of power and love and [f]discipline.

14 You, however, (A)continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that (B)from childhood you have known (C)the sacred writings which are able to (D)give you the wisdom that leads to (E)salvation through faith which is in (F)Christ Jesus. 16 (G)All Scripture is [a]inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for [b]training in righteousness; 17 so that (H)the man of God may be adequate, (I)equipped for every good work.
