2 Ti, pra, biri im, forcohu në hirin që është në Krishtin Jezus;
2 dhe ato që dëgjove nga unë përpara shumë dëshmitarëve, jepua njerëzve besnikë, që do të jenë të aftë të mësojnë edhe të tjerë.
3 Ti, pra, duro pjesën tënde të vuajtjeve, si një ushtar i mirë i Jezu Krishtit.
4 Sepse asnjë nga ata që shkojnë ushtarë nuk ngatërrohet me punërat e jetës, që t’i pëlqejë atij që e mori ushtar.
5 Po ashtu, nëse dikush merr pjesë në gara, nuk kurorëzohet po të mos ketë luftuar sipas rregullave.
6 Bujku që mundohet duhet ta marrë i pari pjesën e fryteve.
7 Mendo për ato që të them, sepse Zoti do të të japë mend për të gjitha.
8 Kujto që Jezu Krishti, nga fisi i Davidit, u ngjall së vdekuri sipas ungjillit tim,
9 për të cilin unë po vuaj deri edhe në pranga posi keqbërës; por fjala e Perëndisë nuk lidhet në pranga.
10 Prandaj unë i duroj të gjitha për shkak të të zgjedhurve, që ata të kenë shpëtimin që është në Krishtin Jezus, bashkë me lavdi të përjetshme.
11 Kjo fjalë është e vërtetë, sepse, nëse ne vdiqëm me të, me të edhe do të rrojmë;
12 në qoftë se vuajmë, do të mbretërojmë bashkë me të; po ta mohojmë, edhe ai do të na mohojë.
13 Nëse jemi të pabesë, ai mbetet besnik, sepse ai nuk mund të mohojë vetveten.
14 Ua kujto atyre këto gjëra, duke u përbetuar përpara Zotit të mos hahen kot me fjalë pa asnjë dobi, në dëm të atyre që dëgjojnë.
15 Mundohu të dalësh përpara Perëndisë si i sprovuar, si punëtor që nuk ka pse të turpërohet, që thotë drejt fjalën e së vërtetës.
16 Shmangu nga fjalët e kota dhe profane, sepse do të çojnë në pabesi,
17 dhe fjala e tyre do të brejë si një gangrenë; ndër këta janë Himeneu dhe Fileti,
18 të cilët dolën jashtë rrugës së të vërtetës, duke thënë se ringjallja ka ngjarë dhe përmbysin besimin e disave.
19 Megjithatë themeli i fortë i Perëndisë qëndron i patundur, dhe ka këtë vulë: "Zoti i njeh të vetët," dhe: "Le t’i largohet paudhësisë kushdo që përmend emrin e Krishtit".
20 Në një shtëpi të madhe nuk ka vetëm enë prej ari dhe argjendi, por edhe prej druri dhe balte; disa për të nderuar; të tjerat për të mos nderuar.
21 Pra, në qoftë se dikush pastrohet nga këto gjëra, do të jetë një enë nderi, e shenjtëruar dhe e dobishme për të zotin, e përgatitur për çdo vepër të mirë.
22 Largohu nga pasionet rinore dhe bjeru pas drejtësisë, besimit, dashurisë dhe paqes bashkë me ata që e thërresin në ndihmë Zotin me zemër të pastër.
23 Shmang gjithashtu diskutimet e marra dhe pa mend, duke ditur se shkaktojnë grindje.
24 Sepse shërbëtori i Zotit nuk duhet të zihet, por të jetë i butë me të gjithë, i aftë për të mësuar njerëzit dhe i durueshëm,
25 duke i mësuar me butësi kundërshtarët, me shpresë se Perëndia ua jep atyre të pendohen, që arrijnë të njohin të vërtetën,
26 dhe të vijnë në vete, duke shpëtuar nga laku i djallit, që i ka zënë robër të vullnetit të tij.

Be Strong in Grace
2 You therefore, (A)my son, (B)be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 3 You therefore must (C)endure[a] hardship (D)as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 (E)No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. 5 And also (F)if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. 7 Consider what I say, and [b]may the Lord (G)give you understanding in all things.
8 Remember that Jesus Christ, (H)of the seed of David, (I)was raised from the dead (J)according to my gospel, 9 (K)for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, (L)even to the point of chains; (M)but the word of God is not chained. 10 Therefore (N)I endure all things for the sake of the [c]elect, (O)that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 This is a faithful saying:
For (P)if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him.
12 (Q)If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
(R)If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He (S)cannot deny Himself.
Approved and Disapproved Workers
14 Remind them of these things, (T)charging them before the Lord not to [d]strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. 15 (U)Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and [e]idle babblings, for they will [f]increase to more ungodliness. 17 And their message will spread like cancer. (V)Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, 18 who have strayed concerning the truth, (W)saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless (X)the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord (Y)knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of [g]Christ depart from iniquity.”
20 But in a great house there are not only (Z)vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, [h]sanctified and useful for the Master, (AA)prepared for every good work. 22 (AB)Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And (AC)a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, (AD)able to teach, (AE)patient, 25 (AF)in humility correcting those who are in opposition, (AG)if God perhaps will grant them repentance, (AH)so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and (AI)escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

2 Y tú, hijo mío, saca fuerzas de la bondad que Dios te ha mostrado por medio de Cristo Jesús. 2 Lo que me has oído decir delante de muchos testigos, encárgaselo a hombres de confianza que sean capaces de enseñárselo a otros.
3 Toma tu parte en los sufrimientos como un buen soldado de Cristo Jesús. 4 Ningún soldado en servicio activo se enreda en los asuntos de la vida civil, porque tiene que agradar a su superior. 5 De la misma manera, el deportista no puede recibir el premio, si no lucha de acuerdo con las reglas. 6 El que trabaja en el campo tiene derecho a ser el primero en recibir su parte de la cosecha. 7 Piensa en esto que digo, porque el Señor te lo hará comprender todo.
8 Acuérdate de Jesucristo, que resucitó y que era descendiente del rey David, según el evangelio que yo anuncio. 9 Y por causa del evangelio soporto sufrimientos, incluso el estar encadenado como un criminal; pero la palabra de Dios no está encadenada. 10 Por eso lo soporto todo en bien de los que Dios ha escogido, para que también ellos alcancen la salvación y la gloria eterna en Cristo Jesús.
11 Esto es muy cierto:
Si hemos muerto con él, también viviremos con él;
12 si sufrimos con valor, tendremos parte en su reino;
si le negamos, también él nos negará;
13 si no somos fieles, él sigue siendo fiel,
porque no puede negarse a sí mismo.
Cuál debe ser la actitud de Timoteo
14 Recuerda a los otros y recomiéndales delante de Dios que hay que evitar las discusiones. No sirven para nada. Lo que hacen es perjudicar a quienes las escuchan. 15 Haz todo lo posible por presentarte delante de Dios como un hombre de valor comprobado, como un trabajador que no tiene de qué avergonzarse, que enseña debidamente el mensaje de la verdad. 16 Evita palabrerías mundanas y vacías, porque los que hablan así, se hunden cada vez más en la maldad 17 y su enseñanza se extiende como un cáncer. Esto es lo que sucede con Himeneo y Fileto, 18 que se han desviado de la verdad diciendo que nuestra resurrección ya ha tenido lugar, y andan trastornando de esa manera la fe de algunos. 19 Pero Dios ha puesto una base que permanece firme, en la cual está escrito: «El Señor conoce a los que le pertenecen», y «Todos los que invocan el nombre del Señor han de apartarse de la maldad.»
20 En una casa grande, no solamente hay objetos de oro y de plata, sino también de madera y de barro; unos son para usos especiales y otros para uso común. 21 Si uno se mantiene limpio de esas faltas, será como un objeto precioso, consagrado y útil al Señor, apropiado para cualquier cosa buena.
22 Huye de las pasiones de la juventud, y busca la justicia, la fe, el amor y la paz, junto con todos los que con un corazón limpio invocan al Señor. 23 No hagas caso de discusiones que no tienen ton ni son; ya sabes que terminan en peleas. 24 Y un siervo del Señor no debe andar en peleas; al contrario, debe ser bueno con todos. Debe ser apto para enseñar; debe tener paciencia 25 y corregir con corazón humilde a los rebeldes, esperando que Dios haga que se vuelvan a él y conozcan la verdad, 26 a fin de que se despierten y escapen de la trampa en que el diablo los tiene presos para hacer de ellos lo que quiera.
