4 Te encargo solemnemente(A), en la presencia de Dios y de Cristo Jesús, que ha de juzgar a los vivos y a los muertos(B), por su manifestación y por su reino(C): 2 Predica la palabra(D); insiste a tiempo y fuera de tiempo; redarguye(E), reprende, exhorta con mucha[a] paciencia e instrucción(F). 3 Porque vendrá tiempo(G) cuando no soportarán la sana doctrina(H), sino que teniendo comezón de oídos, acumularán para sí maestros conforme a sus propios deseos; 4 y apartarán sus oídos de la verdad(I), y se volverán a mitos[b](J). 5 Pero tú, sé sobrio en todas las cosas(K), sufre penalidades(L), haz el trabajo de un evangelista(M), cumple tu ministerio(N). 6 Porque yo ya estoy para ser derramado como una ofrenda de libación(O), y el tiempo de mi partida ha llegado(P). 7 He peleado la buena batalla(Q), he terminado la carrera(R), he guardado la fe(S). 8 En el futuro me está reservada(T) la corona de justicia(U) que el Señor, el Juez justo, me entregará en aquel día(V); y no solo a mí, sino también a todos los que aman(W) su venida[c](X).

9 Procura venir a verme pronto(Y), 10 pues Demas(Z) me ha abandonado, habiendo amado este mundo[d](AA) presente, y se ha ido a Tesalónica(AB); Crescente se fue a Galacia[e](AC) y Tito a Dalmacia(AD). 11 Solo(AE) Lucas está conmigo(AF). Toma a Marcos(AG) y tráelo contigo, porque me es útil para el ministerio[f](AH). 12 Pero a Tíquico(AI) lo envié a Efeso(AJ). 13 Cuando vengas, trae la capa que dejé en Troas con Carpo(AK), y los libros[g], especialmente los pergaminos. 14 Alejandro(AL), el calderero, me hizo mucho daño; el Señor le retribuirá conforme a sus hechos(AM). 15 Tú también cuídate de él, pues se opone vigorosamente a nuestra enseñanza[h]. 16 En mi primera defensa nadie estuvo a mi lado, sino que todos me abandonaron; que no se les tenga en cuenta(AN). 17 Pero el Señor estuvo conmigo y me fortaleció(AO), a fin de que por mí se cumpliera cabalmente(AP) la proclamación del mensaje(AQ) y que todos los gentiles oyeran(AR). Y fui librado(AS) de la boca del león(AT). 18 El Señor me librará de toda obra mala y me traerá a salvo(AU) a[i] su reino celestial(AV). A Él[j] sea la gloria por los siglos de los siglos(AW). Amén.

4 Je t'en conjure devant Dieu et devant Jésus Christ, qui doit juger les vivants et les morts, et au nom de son apparition et de son royaume,
2 prêche la parole, insiste en toute occasion, favorable ou non, reprends, censure, exhorte, avec toute douceur et en instruisant.
3 Car il viendra un temps où les hommes ne supporteront pas la saine doctrine; mais, ayant la démangeaison d'entendre des choses agréables, ils se donneront une foule de docteurs selon leurs propres désires,
4 détourneront l'oreille de la vérité, et se tourneront vers les fables.
5 Mais toi, sois sobre en toutes choses, supporte les souffrances, fais l'oeuvre d'un évangéliste, remplis bien ton ministère.
6 Car pour moi, je sers déjà de libation, et le moment de mon départ approche.
7 J'ai combattu le bon combat, j'ai achevé la course, j'ai gardé la foi.
8 Désormais la couronne de justice m'est réservée; le Seigneur, le juste juge, me le donnera dans ce jour-là, et non seulement à moi, mais encore à tous ceux qui auront aimé son avènement.
9 Viens au plus tôt vers moi;
10 car Démas m'a abandonné, par amour pour le siècle présent, et il est parti pour Thessalonique; Crescens est allé en Galatie, Tite en Dalmatie.
11 Luc seul est avec moi. Prends Marc, et amène-le avec toi, car il m'est utile pour le ministère.
12 J'ai envoyé Tychique à Éphèse.
13 Quand tu viendras, apporte le manteau que j'ai laissé à Troas chez Carpus, et les livres, surtout les parchemins.
14 Alexandre, le forgeron, m'a fait beaucoup de mal. Le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses oeuvres.
15 Garde-toi aussi de lui, car il s'est fortement opposé à nos paroles.
16 Dans ma première défense, personne ne m'a assisté, mais tous m'ont abandonné. Que cela ne leur soit point imputé!
17 C'est le Seigneur qui m'a assisté et qui m'a fortifié, afin que la prédication fût accomplie par moi et que tous les païens l'entendissent. Et j'ai été délivré de la gueule du lion.
18 Le Seigneur me délivrera de toute oeuvre mauvaise, et il me sauvera pour me faire entrer dans son royaume céleste. A lui soit la gloire aux siècles des siècles! Amen!
19 Salue Prisca et Aquilas, et la famille d'Onésiphore.
20 Éraste est resté à Corinthe, et j'ai laissé Trophime malade à Milet.

4 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead,(A) and in view of his appearing(B) and his kingdom, I give you this charge:(C) 2 Preach(D) the word;(E) be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke(F) and encourage(G)—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.(H) Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.(I) 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.(J) 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship,(K) do the work of an evangelist,(L) discharge all the duties of your ministry.
6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering,(M) and the time for my departure is near.(N) 7 I have fought the good fight,(O) I have finished the race,(P) I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me(Q) the crown of righteousness,(R) which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day(S)—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.(T)

9 Do your best to come to me quickly,(U) 10 for Demas,(V) because he loved this world,(W) has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica.(X) Crescens has gone to Galatia,(Y) and Titus(Z) to Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke(AA) is with me.(AB) Get Mark(AC) and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry. 12 I sent Tychicus(AD) to Ephesus.(AE) 13 When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas,(AF) and my scrolls, especially the parchments.
14 Alexander(AG) the metalworker did me a great deal of harm. The Lord will repay him for what he has done.(AH) 15 You too should be on your guard against him, because he strongly opposed our message.
16 At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them.(AI) 17 But the Lord stood at my side(AJ) and gave me strength,(AK) so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it.(AL) And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth.(AM) 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack(AN) and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.(AO) To him be glory for ever and ever.
