¹¹ persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me ^(A)at Antioch, ^(B)at Iconium, ^(C)at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And ^(D)out of them all the Lord delivered me.

⁴⁵ But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they ^(A)opposed the things spoken by Paul.

²³ Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: ^(A)in labors more abundant, ^(B)in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, ^(C)in deaths often. ²⁴ From the Jews five times I received ^(D)forty ^(E)stripes minus one. ²⁵ Three times I was ^(F)beaten with rods; ^(G)once I was stoned; three times I ^(H)was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; ²⁶ in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, ^(I)in perils of my own countrymen, ^(J)in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ in weariness and toil, ^(K)in sleeplessness often, ^(L)in hunger and thirst, in ^(M)fastings often, in cold and nakedness— ²⁸ besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: ^(N)my deep concern for all the churches.

⁵ And when a violent attempt was made by both the Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, ^(A)to abuse and stone them, ⁶ they became aware of it and ^(B)fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding region.

⁹ then ^(A)the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

³³ partly while you were made ^(A)a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while ^(B)you became companions of those who were so treated; ³⁴ for you had compassion on ^[a]me ^(C)in my chains, and ^(D)joyfully accepted the plundering of your ^[b]goods, knowing that ^(E)you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves ^[c]in heaven.

The Lord Is Faithful

^17 (A)But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, ^(B)so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered ^(C)out of the mouth of the lion. ^18 (D)And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. ^(E)To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!
