²⁴ And ^(A)the Lord's servant^[a] must not be quarrelsome but ^(B)kind to everyone, ^(C)able to teach, patiently enduring evil,

^2 (A)to speak evil of no one, ^(B)to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and ^(C)to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

Hearing and Doing the Word

^19 (A)Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person ^(B)be quick to hear, ^(C)slow to speak, ^(D)slow to anger; ²⁰ for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

² Therefore ^(A)an overseer^[a] must be above reproach, ^(B)the husband of one wife,^{[b] (C)}sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, ^(D)hospitable, ^(E)able to teach, ³ not a drunkard, not violent but ^(F)gentle, not quarrelsome, ^(G)not a lover of money.

⁷ For an overseer,^{[a] (A)}as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not ^(B)be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent ^(C)or greedy for gain,

Fight the Good Fight of Faith

¹¹ But as for you, ^(A)O man of God, ^(B)flee these things. ^(C)Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.

⁷ But we were ^(A)gentle^[a] among you, ^(B)like a nursing mother taking care of her own children.

^13 (A)bearing with one another and, ^(B)if one has a complaint against another, ^(C)forgiving each other; ^(D)as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

¹⁴ Do all things ^(A)without grumbling or ^(B)disputing,
