¹¹ To this end we ^(A)always pray for you, that our God may ^(B)make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every ^(C)work of faith by his power,

¹³ for ^(A)it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for ^(B)his good pleasure.

³ remembering before ^(A)our God and Father ^(B)your work of faith and labor of ^(C)love and ^(D)steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ And so, ^(A)from the day we heard, ^(B)we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that ^(C)you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all ^(D)spiritual wisdom and understanding, ¹⁰ so as ^(E)to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, ^(F)fully pleasing to him: ^(G)bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; ^11 (H)being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for ^(I)all endurance and patience ^(J)with joy; ^12 (K)giving thanks^[a] to the Father, who has qualified you^[b] to share in ^(L)the inheritance of the saints in light. ¹³ He ^(M)has delivered us from ^(N)the domain of darkness and transferred us to ^(O)the kingdom of ^(P)his beloved Son,

The Judgment at Christ's Coming

⁵ This is ^(A)evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be ^(B)considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering—

⁹ For ^(A)what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God, ¹⁰ as we pray most earnestly ^(B)night and day ^(C)that we may see you face to face and ^(D)supply what is lacking in your faith?

¹¹ Now may ^(E)our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, ^(F)direct our way to you, ¹² and may the Lord ^(G)make you increase and abound in love ^(H)for one another and for all, as we do for you, ¹³ so that he may ^(I)establish your hearts blameless in holiness before ^(J)our God and Father, at ^(K)the coming of our Lord Jesus ^(L)with all his saints.

² looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, ^(A)who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising ^(B)the shame, and ^(C)is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

⁴ But when ^(A)the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, ^(B)not because of works done by us in righteousness, but ^(C)according to his own mercy, by ^(D)the washing of regeneration and ^(E)renewal of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he ^(F)poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that ^(G)being justified by his grace we might become ^(H)heirs ^(I)according to the hope of eternal life.

¹⁴ To this he called you through ^(A)our gospel, ^(B)so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
